At last, Ireland have beaten the All Blacks for the first time in rugby.
Yes I know it took 111 years of trying but at last we have done it.

It was poignant that it took place in Chicago just after the local Cubs team beat a 108 year hoodoo. Chicago will forever remain close to Irish rugby supporters hearts because of this.

There are so many things that one wants to do before dying and the majority are personal factors but there are a couple of silly ones that have no real importance but you would love to experience none the less.

My 2 sporting wishes were to see my team win a VI nations grand slam (which we did in 2009) and see my team beat the revered New Zealand ´All Blacks´.

We started in 1905 and have played and lost 28 times until november 2016 when we won

Now if I never see another game of rugby in my life I can die without any sporting regrets. They have been fulfilled.

Don´t worry, I have no plans to die soon, I still have a few personal goals to achieve yet!

Thanks for listening!

Fergus

Hey Fergus, well done to Ireland and I hope you are enjoying the victory! As a Kiwi, I was happy to see you win. Ireland clearly played the better rugby and it was refreshing to see a team come out and give it to the All Blacks with some passion and beat them at their own game. As a result of Ireland's positive strategy, you won! It was an excellent game all round and played with good spirit and was a great spectacle to watch. Maybe Australia's coach could take a few notes on how to approach it smile
