Beloved,
My beautiful wife of 47 years died this morning.
She was beautiful until they came to take her body away.
I was with her and had just read some of what King David wrote 3,000 years ago about life and living and death and peace. She stirred a bit, I cleaned her mouth, wiped her face, kissed her cheek and two huge tears poured out her eyes. In a bit she moaned, her tummy boiled and her lungs gave one last heave.
She was one tough cookie but so loving with those that needed a helping hand, encouragement, or to borrow some strength to confront a heavy problem. Years ago, when young wives would come to our home because their husbands were, neglecting or even abusing them; Linda would get in the husbands face and tell them to knock it off.
This group here at KA, sent her recovery wishes after her open heart surgery!!!
I am a blessed man, God gave me a stronger woman than most men would want. But I needed her!
Thanks for reading, thanks for caring, thanks for the love that only AS people can given to another ASer.

So sorry to hear of your loss, but so glad you were able to be with her to the last. Having been with my father when he passed, I am sure you were a big comfort to her, and your presence helped her to let go peacefully.

Prayers for you and family for comfort at this time. I felt I knew Lin personally with all the stories you shared over the years here at Kickas. Very nice you could be at her side and share some of what King David wrote 3000 years ago with her at the end.
