Am I the only one who has random or most of the day palpitation that you can hear your own heart beat? But normal pulse?

Hey I get a similar thing. It comes and goes sometimes lasts weeks.
Not sure about hearing my own hear beat but i can feel heavy beats and flutters etc.
I have had it checked out a couple of times and nothing bad has been found.
I just have Atrial Ectopic Beats (PAC's).

Not sure if its even related to AS.
As apparently this is not majorly uncommon.

I had edema and that can cause pulsatile tinnitus, where you hear your heartbeat in your ears.

I stopped the medication that gave me edema, and the symptom went away.

For me, most NSAIDs, cox2 inhibitors, and some statins give me nonpitting edema.

So I never saw the edema, but I had symptoms of edema, like the pulsatile tinnitus and pain in my lower legs and feet.

If you are taking NSAIDs for the arthritis (or other meds), you could have nonpitting edema....

the pulsatile tinnitus was the final clue that this was what was going on.

I have had many episodes of palpitations and thundering racing heart
My spine us bent and fused. In my case I am certain it is biomechanical. That is the alteration in my spine creates a neurological stress

I can cause or avoid most episodes by not sleeping on my left side. If an episode occurs it used to be scary, but slow and very deep breathing usually slows the thundering heart.
