Really interesting talk here:
http://sydney.edu.au/science/outreach/podcast/The-Importance-of-Talking-Sh_t.mp3
Goes deeply into issues of dysbiosis, inflammation, fecal transplants, etc etc. Heartening to see scientists becoming aware of exactly the same things we are observing in regards to dysbiosis causing inflammatory disease.

If you guys have any questions, I could ask him. Shouldn't be too hard to contact him as I live and work in Sydney.

Thanks Zark, I found that interesting. This whole area is fascinating to me. My AS started up immediately after a nasty food poisoning bout which left me with bad diarrhea for weeks so it rings true to me when he talks about pathogens that induce this type of activity to flush out their competition so they can take up residence. I need to find somewhere in NZ that studies poo!

My son tested positive for Lyme and he had Lyme treatment, but really the immediate trigger for his arthritis was a severe gastroenteritis with lots of diarrhea.

I'm beginning to think that both AS and Crohn's would respond well to fecal transplants.

Hi Mary,

I think there was talk about fecal transplants (FMT) in the alternatives sub forum. Just had a look and yep found it: https://www.kickas.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=490848
The rumour mill sounds pretty positive around this.. people having less food sensitivity, improved energy and vitality, etc

Hi dlee,
Yeh I had some food poisoning when I was younger and recall the tummy pains that would come occasionally months afterwards.

I kind of want to do it too. Wish this came in enteric coated pills tongue4
Someone posted that some people are getting this done DIY style heheh

Some people like Art Ayers think you should leave your toothbrush hanging around the toilet so that when people use the toilet and flush, the bacteria get wooshed up into the air and attach to your toothbrush so that its all nice and bacterial coated the next time you use it. Nice. No good in the US though where you guys have toilets that have water almost all the way to the top that sort of suck everything out as opposed to toilets that have a little water at the bottom for your business to splash into and then have a "waterfall" smash into it when you flush and stir it all up.
