If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hey folks. Been a while since I've posted and l hope you are all doing well. recently l began using Celebrex for my AS and so far found it does little. also l have begun getting these mind splitting headaches. usually one a week since i started on the Celebrex. this Monday l had another one start on me and it was by far the worst. This one in particular has decided to stick around until now which is Wednesday at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Finally I'm feeling it subside. Has anybody else encountered such headaches while taking celebrex? I have stopped taking it as my Pharmacist recommended that I stop for a day or two. I'm back on Naproxen for the pain which even with my exercises l find also does little but at least the head is easing up. any advice or similar stories out there? cheers.
keep your chin up! even if it hurts.

Hopefully it is like pollen, or perhaps seasonal changes. Headaches = bad.

I am concerned it could be inflammation in the top of my spine. my neck has been extremely stiff lately to the point where l can barely move it. l see my Rheumatologist next week. Hopefully I will get more answers then.

Seems like it started with the Celebrex. I took Sulphasalazine for years and then it started giving me horrible Migraines. You will have to take to your Dr. about taking something else. Let us know what your Dr. says.

I do not see headaches listed as common side effect for Celebrex.
I took it for a while, never did much, but do not recall issues with headaches. My father took it 20+ years without headache issues.
If having stiffness in neck, that could be leading to the headaches.

I've been getting migraines since I was 10 years old? or was it 8 years old? I know most of my triggers.
My neck stuff will also give me headaches too. But then I get the pain in my neck, the muscle spasms, and the headaches. If it is due to my neck, ice, heat, ultrasound, manual traction to my neck will make the headache better.
Celebrex just gave me brain fog.
But Lyrica gave me headaches, couldn't use it.
When I was in perimenopause, my migraines got so much worse for so much more of the time. I'd have a splitting migraine for up to a week til the hormones cycled. Hadn't had them that bad since I was a teenager when the hormones were ramping up. Now that the hormones have ramped down, thank goodness I don't have to deal with that migraine trigger.
Going from high stress to low stress is a common migraine trigger, and always has been for me.
Not enough sleep, dehydration, hunger are all things sure to trigger my migraines.
Certain chemicals found in foods (sodium benzoate, a common yellow dye) will also trigger my migraines.

Thanks all! the words are highly appreciated. I was advised to stay on the celebrex but to cut the dose in half down to 200mg a day from 400mg. we'll see if that helps. i didn't think it was even helping really... until l got off of it for a couple days. l see my Rheumatologist next week so wish me luck.
keep your chins up folks! even if it hurts.

Canuck- I had injections in my head (yes head) and neck and shoulders. they made so much difference. that was 3 years ago. I am ready to go back in and get some more!!
It was a neurologist who did this- as well as found MS in my brain.
I keep the New Covenant, when I fail....I am pulled back into place by HIM.

I was on 400mg a day of Celebrex and I don't remember getting headaches from it. I have had migraines in the past. Started just once and a while then I was getting them once a week. I had been having Botox injections in my shoulders and neck for pain and I tried it in my scalp for the migraines. It took a bit to work but now I have not had a Migraine since last September 1st. I hope you find something that helps ! Sherri
