Hi folks

NASS have recently launched there free AS specific exercise app for mobiles and tablets, which is fantastic!!!

Search your devices app store for :

NASS - back to action

Also, please note....
As of the 18th of November nass have agreed to allow people to register and join the nass forum for free ! Usually, access to the forum is only available to paid up members of the national ankylosing spondylitis society. But after recent discussion, nass have acknowledged that some people , particularly people who are not yet in a position to have official diagnosis, are possibly put off by the membership fee and are turning away....
Well, they have agreed to this one month trial period of allowing free registration to the forum which is great news for all !

I am a huge fan of kickas but often for us uk folk, some uk based specific info is required whether it be nhs, benefit, or pharmaceutical information required, info that is specific to the uk.
Well, the forum offers alot of information but there are huge benefits to be had for. Becoming a member too.
Firstly, the funding supports the charity. This enables us to have people fight our corner in parliament, in raising awareness of our condition, in providing support and advice with regard to your rights, legalities , information news letters, papers written , progress reports on research.....join AS local groups and attend physio/ excersise group sessions and even hydro therapy sessions, . A whole host of AS specific support.

I don't work for nass, nor do i have any affiliation with them other than being just a simple member. However, i believe that for the small cost of £20 or less we should stand together and support the charity who set out to support us.

Please guys, show your support, sign up for free forum membership on or after the 18th November.

Thanks

Buster/ wonky donkey

I'm just a member mate, no ties..... I asked nass to drop the fee for forum access as i felt it turned many people away, and as such the forum was suffering.....
Well, they listened!!!! smile

The free access is to be trailed for one month just so the staff can make sure the spam levels don't increase massivly ..... . Im a paid member, and up to now there was always a membership fee, so mine would need renewing anually. ..But I guess those who join now in this free period will enjoy 12 months free minimum, however, if the trial is successful, nass may agree to per neatly drop the fee meaning free now, free forever !

Membership to nass itself and access to the excellent website is still to remain a benefit of paid up members (£20), but the forum, that's free.... smile

May take 24 hrs for them to get back to you john, they don't have admin online 24/7 i don't think.... They are a charity who operate a small office so I'd guess during office hours they'll authorise you.... smile

They're a great bunch, have loads of advice , be it meds, benefits, legal rights, lobbying parliament on our behalf...Managing AS at work, loads of great stuff... for both Newley diagnosed and old handsPeople to phone and speak to, groups nationwide that meet and excersise including hydro groups.....

Nass. Poor devils got bombarded with spam afte opening up their doors for free access to the forum and it really messed things up, so, they've had to close the door till they Can sort it out and put a few measures in place to ensure they don't just get idiots trying to sell stuff or the like.....
However.... I argued the case that the newcomers should be allowed to stay and they agreed...
If you email sallyd@nass.co.uk she has agreed to issue you few guys who recently took advantage of the doors being opened with free membership !

Get an email off asap!!!!!

I am told that after Xmas, they will get the tech people to put in some measure to prevent the spam and open the door again, but untill then.... Members only.... Unless you email Sally now !!!!
