Thanks for all the replies everyone! I always feel very supported and learn a ton from you all.
@Andrea- Yes, it's a been awhile for sure! I've been feeling pretty good that was until about 6 weeks ago. Unfortunately my wife and I were in an awful car accident and have been slowly recovering. Like I needed any more "spinal" issues but I fractured my T2 vertabrae in the crash and broke some ribs. Spent the first few weeks on the couch but thankfully I'll heal eventually and these are the things I'm most grateful for, is my life, my mind, and my body. When doctors and the EMT's saw our car, they said how lucky we were to have survived with the injuries we had. We were rear ended by a giant van going about 50-55 mph while we sat stopped at a red light. This is why they saw the kidney stones. I went in for my follow up MRI on my spine and the radiologist noted it in his report. Although as of yet, I have not had any symptoms of them and no idea I had them. Regarding the ACV, yes for the past couple of months now I do drink about 2 tbsp a day of ACV (Braggs) in a glass of water. Once in the morning and once in the evening so good to know I'm doing some good things! For the first two weeks after the accident, I had a crushed esophagus as well and couldn't swallow anything so I made tons of homemade bone broth and put that in the blender along with some chicken breast and sipped it through a straw. It tasted just like chicken soup lol!
@ZehnTuhl-Thanks for the link, yes I drink TONS of water too. Always have. I drink at least the 8-10 glasses a day and I usually drink a lot of herbal tea, usually ginger, peppermint, or Rooibos. Don't drink coffee or soda. Occasional Chai here and there.
@John - Thanks for all the advice and tips John. You always have a wealth of information. So your thought is that these stones are residual and probably started forming back when my inflammation was high correct? I'll admit I don't eat 100% NSD, but more like 80-90% of the time which has managed to control my pain to a level that I'm comfortable and happy with. As I've mentioned on this blog before, my pain is not like what many of you all have experienced that span many areas of the body and pain levels much higher than what I'm used too. Maybe this is a curse for me as I've taken the approach that I can get away with a bit more. Each year I follow up with my Rheumy to check progression of the AS and inflammation markers/levels and all seems to have stabilized since I started all this a couple years ago. It truly has been a lifestyle change for me as I cut out all processed foods, most sugar and didn't realize how much of a carb/bread heavy diet I used to consume.
My main symptom and only pain is in my rib cage and only when I sleep at night. However, for the months prior to the accident and since, it's been fairly low most nights if mostly non-existent. My diet has fallen apart these past few weeks as countless friends and family have been bringing us food while visiting us, but surprisingly I actually feel pretty good aside from the T2 area that was fractured...that is really sore still. Once I get more mobile and up and about I'll get back on track..sort of feels like I got hit by a giant truck

!
John, what sort of cleansing diets do you recommend? The apple diet probably won't work well for me since I don't do well with a lot of fruit and/or sugar. I've read that dandelion tea/gravel root tea are good for passing the stones as well. I eat walnuts all the time lol, so not sure that well help but perhaps I'll need to get my hands on some watermelon seeds. I wonder if these stones have been what's contributed to my ribcage pain at night.
Sounds like all the spinach/kale smoothies then aren't my problem and I can continue eating them?
I keep hearing/reading horror stories about passing the stones and now wonder when that time will come. If it wasn't for this accident I wouldn't have even known about them. Do people usually take pain killers while they begin moving? What kinds? I'm really nervous about what to expect?!
