If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

HI All
I had an apt with a diabetic specialist and they did a routine ECG. He looked at it and said "you have had a heart attack " . I said what . He asked me all kinds of questions about sob and chest pain. I told him I was never SOB, and I always have some chest pain off an on, from the A/S . I will now be going to a cardiologist and see what needs to be done . I still can't quite believe it, but I am still having PVC's and he showed me where the ECG shows the infarction. He said that 25 % of people especially women, have no symptoms when having a heart attack. He also said when you have pain all the time, it is very hard to tell the difference.

good luck with your appointments Jp and hope all goes well
PVCS in the absence of structural heart disease are mostly benign
yes many women have "silent" heart attacks
keep well and positive

Oh my, thank goodness you went for that appt! I remember reading that women's symptoms of a heart attack are not the traditional ones most think about. Good luck with you appt.

Last Wednesday, I also had and EKG. Nurse said it was the first normal one she had run this week. Good luck on the treatment.

Janet, my Mom had several silent heart attacks. Three years ago I got so fatigued that I could hardly move. I feel like I got a God nudge and I asked my cardiologist if he would do an angiogram. He said "Of course I will. If someone asks for one I am certainly doing it." Bottom line, he did it and immediately called in a surgeon and the next thing I was being prepped for surgery. I had no pain, shortness of breath, etc. I was just tired and having Lupus I thought for a while that was what it was. FYI, surgery is much harder on those who love you than it is on the patient. It looks pretty scary at first with the tubes, etc. I did great with 4 bypasses and went home in 3 days. I did much better with it than with my recent spine surgery. I am glad they found it. I will be thinking of you.

Glad you are feeling okay and hope you get good news from cardiologist. You are right in pointing out that women do not have the same symptoms as men (crushing chest pain, sweats, anxiety, etc). Ladies, be aware of this. Janet, have a wonderful time on your cruise. Where are you headed?

Glad they are onto it. I just had an EKG the other day, as I have been having a lot of quite bad chest pain that I had assumed was my hiatus hernia playing up (plus the costo), but my doc suggested checking with an EKG just in case, even though she agreed with my assumptions. As it turned out it was normal, but I'm kind of glad I had it checked.
