I picked up a jar of tahini and I'm looking for ideas on what to do with it. Something I could make that is NSD as well as soy free.

Betty Rawker has a tahini milkshake that is amazing. It can also be a dip for veggies. It can be made into candy, halva, if I've got that right, but I've never made it.

My favorite tahini is Brad's Organic Tahini.... the seeds are hulled, which means it is extra creamy with non of the bite that many tahinis have. I'm sugar free, so to me it has a more sweet taste compared to others I have tried.

I love it with roasted sesame oil, a dash of grey sea salt (which I like better than other salts I have tried), on top of:

pea shoots- or also called pea greens- these are the plants that grow peas, but make sure there are no starchy peas mixed in. They have a mild flavor of peas and seem to be increasingly available at farmers markets and fancy markets.

sunflower greens -or sometimes called sunflower shoots- which are delicious and VERY healthy for you. They are the most expensive greens, but they "stick" to you more than regular greens (meaning they satisfy you longer), as they are extremely high in protein. Again, these are the green plants, as the seeds are claimed to be starchy, by most.... though Betty Rawker says otherwise... so now I am intrigued....

If non of those fancy greens are available, this mixture is also yummy on romaine hearts or butter lettuce.... lighter greens with mild taste. Obviously, you can mix it with an greens, but these are my favorites.

I used to also add coconut oil to it.... but I've been having heartburn issues with coconut oil for the past 6 months or so.

I am also going to try making kale chips with the ol' tahini.... I think that will be scrumptious.

My yum: celery/avocado/spinach/kale/arugula/chard/lettuce/kombu/nori/all microgreens(but I avoid sprouts)/all meats/bone broths/all fish/eggs/ oils: hazelnut oil/coconut oil /pecan oil /olive oil/walnut oil/pecan oil/pumpkin oil/avocado oil /ghee/nut butters: hazelnut/brazil nut/skinless marcona almond/tahini/coconut flour/coconut kefir/homemade 72 hour goats milk yogurt/umeboshi paste/thyme/grey sea salt/Garlic infused oils/
Fruit: berries, cherries, plums, nectarines, peaches

I just had a tahini feast while wathing Sherlock. My absolute favorite: green cabbage leaves, sprinkled with tahini and with pine nuts. Cannot get enough. Add some boiled egg too, and eat it all with your hands.
