If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello everybody. I have been on NSD for about a year now, with good results, but i still suffer especially from stiffness in my neck. I was thinking of fasting for afew days, and wanted to know which fast works best for people, and for how long. I tried an apple fast in the past, and it did help. I am not eating fruit because of candida these days, so i need to find an alternative,I was thinking of a veg juice fast, and wanted to ask if that form of fast is about the juices only, or is it all of the veg. blended. wouold be happy to get some suggestions. thanks, BMAN

Hi Bman, Is there anyway you can watch the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead? You can download it on amazon, Netflix, and another kicks'er said you can watch it for free on hulu. But even if you download it from amazon.com, it is only like $2.99 US to watch. It will have more than enough info on juicing and how it effects your body, what to juice etc. Then they have a very popular website with lots and lots of juice recipes. Go to their website to easily download the movie: http://fatsickandnearlydead.com/I found a blend of fruits, veggies, herbs & greens was best for my juicing. But you can blend it however you want to. Just about all of the starch seems to be removed when juicing, so you don't have to worry about it much, I juiced apples, beets, carrots, ginger, garlic, dandelion greens, lemon, limes, parsley, etc in different combinations. The longest juice fast I did was 14 days, and I still went to work, the gym, appointments, etc, and had more energy then ever in my life. The first 2 days were very hard, but after that it was super easy and I felt great. I now do shorter juice fasts occasionally, but do plan to do a longer one again soon! Best of luck to you!!
I'm now a KICK AS (and Kick IBD) success story!! After going low starch Paleo to heal my gut, I can now eat nearly all starches, grains & foods without inflammation, flare-ups, or pain. I used a modified SCD diet approach (minus dairy! plus cacao ♥). Cheers to healing & thriving again! I blog at http://www.forestandfauna.com/about/

Thanks Andrea. I saw the movie and it was very interesting. Just wanted to understand if u drink only the juice, or also the "meat" of the fruit/veg?

For a fasting approach I would remove the "meat" pulp of the fruits/veggies and just drink the juice. I drank about 3 quarts per day. They say to just drink as much as you need - if you need more, drink more. Also coconut water is encouraged as something to drink, and plenty of water.
But, you can also do a simpler fast with smoothies, which would be the whole fruit/veggie/greens etc. I personally believe you will see the most immediate benefit with straight juicing, but as a daily ritual, I drink a LOT of smoothies - sometimes I replace 2 meals a day with smoothies. I LOVE smoothies.
If I wanted to break out of a nasty flare though I would do juice only for at least one week, no smoothies. But as an overall diet daily when not fasting, I LOVE smoothies.

Why dont you try it and find out!!?
I felt awesome and full of energy. I wasnt hungry until around day 10. Each day you are getting bucket loads of veggies into your system minus a little fiber.
Enough about my juice fasting experience, as I now want to hear about yours!!

bcho, yes, a person does get hungry...
but it is an easy trade off when the pain is extreme.
I tend to leave the pulp in my juices for that reason.
or eat a whole apple... no seeds... that helps
I keep the New Covenant, when I fail....I am pulled back into place by HIM.

Good to know about the free version. I can't wait to hear about your adventures in fasting. Please report back when you can!! ps: I was so determined to feel better, I honestly didn't get hungry at all for the first 9 days or so. Until around day 10 or 11 and I started have vivid dreams about all the ways I wanted to eat salmon.
