I also use the self syringe.. I find a good pinch to stomach takes away most the discomfort.. When I think, Either a brief sting or a constant crippling pain, the decision comes easy wink

I hope you can get the same relief I have found!

I haven't done any hypnotherapy sessions yet but been doing the "self-hypnosis/meditation" each night - 2nd injection tomorrow so fingers crossed it goes better than last week! No change in pain - patience is not my strong point! Haha!

Went to a new Physio today who seemed really good, had a good knowledge and understanding of AS & somehow talked me in to going for an acupuncture session with her next week - I must be mad, more needles!! LOL

but the acupuncture needles are so thin and small, you won't even feel them. Just lay there with your eyes closed, relax, and let them do their thing smile

WOOHOO, doing a little happy dance (well, in my head at least) - I managed to push the auto-injector button all by myself!!!! Went to a different GP clinic and had a beautiful nurse, Daisy from Columbia, help me through it!! Still a few tears and a bit of hyperventilating when I first arrived but she went through it all with me, we practised with the training pen first and she didn't put me under any pressure - I did it in my stomach this time and while it was a little uncomfortable it was nothing like the stinging from last week! I am sooooo chuffed with myself and so grateful to Daisy for getting me through it!!! YAY!!! cheerleader

Thank you Marion - I'm so pleased I managed to do it. Such a small thing but huge for me :-D Still going to see the hypnotherapist on Monday though, just in case that was a fluke! LOL

Congratulations!!!

You did it!!!

My biggest problem early on was not letting the alcohol dry. I now fan the area with my hand till it doesn't feel cool, then I know its dry. Also spread the skin taut and think about the week ahead, being in less pain. It will get easier as time goes by. Thanks for coming here and sharing your fears and being brave enough to overcome them...yay.!!

I can not defeat you but I will not let you win

Good for you! Jeff, I had forgotten the alcohol part. I learned the hard way also about not letting it dry,

Another victory!!
