All I have to say is soooo not cool. Yikes, my husband and I sit the kids down and warn them every time I take a ride on the roids ! I'm sorry you experience that, but at least we're in this together and can talk to each other... or rant . lol

I can't sleep on steroids either. I take Ambien now to sleep because I need the daily steroids to be ale to be a Mom. If I don't sleep, my pain is much worse. I now can't sleep at all without the Ambien so I don't know if I am doing the right thing by taking a sleep aid. Hope you get some sleep soon.

my muscle relaxant zanaflex helps me sleep. not just because it relaxes my muscles, but because it lowers my blood pressure as well. i take it before bedtime, it might help you.

prior to needing zanaflex, before the arthritis started, i used to drink valerian root tea on occasion; that really put me out. I read somewhere that in Germany, they prescribe valerian root more than any other sleep aid. I think its a pretty safe herb, though you could check that out.

a hot bath or shower before bed also helps.

but if you need more help than that, the others seem to know which meds work.

Good luck!
