If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I gave myself my humira injection for the 2nd time today...It hurt going in so I think I flinched and may have let the needle come out a little...it all went in, but I think it went just under the skin because my leg bubbled up right away. I am guessing it will be fine? Icing it to see if that helps swelling and burning go down.
Does that mean I won't get the full benefit of this shot?
Thanks!

I usually had a small bump at the site for about 30 min. I injected in my stomach though, which I found less painful

Hi Jamie,
You are doing the right thing by icing it. I used to inject Humira and I inject my migraine meds 2" away from my belly button and that is a lot less painful site. As far as it getting into your blood stream, I would think so but to be safe, call your Dr.

You know, I can have doctors stick me with needles, no problem, it really doesn't hurt that much.
But I stress myself out so badly that I couldn't even prick my finger to take a drop of blood to test my blood sugar.
If or when humira is in my future, I think my husband will have to inject me at first. Though I know he will make me do it myself.
I feel what you are going through, but know too that its just a matter of getting used to it.

Thank you for the responses bodsquad, pea and sue. After icing swelling went down, so I think it was ok.
sue, it's true...didn't hurt when nurse did it to me, hurt more when I did it myself the first time...this time hurt bad, was probably anticipating too much. I hear stomach is better, but my nurse said leg easier. I think I'll try stomach next time. Maybe my fat will provide a cushion LOL.

I inject my Enbrel in my thigh and though it hurts like hell, I kind of love the rush it gives LOL! I'm probably crazy. I like the help it gives me so I almost crave the sensation.

I inject Enbrel. Being that it is a subdermal (under the skin) I think you will get the benefit from it. I always wait till the syringe is up to room temp and that I wait long enough after I sterilize the injection site for the alcohol to dry.
It really can make a difference and it doesn't sting as much.

Ok Wilhelm that is too funny! Love it! I'm not there yet!
Jeff, I bet the alcohol was still wet, I will try that next time, thanks!
