If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi, unfortunately your Rheumy might be right. I had 2 attempts of living in a cold damp climate in a cold stone building. I really wanted to live there, but each time the symptoms of AS became so severe (despite daily physio exercises to try and maintain mobility) that I was unable to walk at all, and in severe pain. Both times I returned to where I live in Western Australia,in a hot, inland, arid place and my symptoms dramatically improved. But before contemplating moving, I think it would be worth trying what others have said about holing up over winter in a warm, well insulated house with a dehumidifyer. I was living in a stone Buddhist Monastery at the time and had no control over modifying the building to exclude the cold and damp. Best of luck in your journey to wellness. Love from Constance

Thank you guys for the affirmations. It will be hard to pay for two places though. Husband will be here working and still trying to sell the house. If it hasn't sold in 5 years, who know's when it will sell.
I was in Kansas 2 summers ago for a month and it got up in the 114 degree area and I felt like a kid again. My bones felt flexible and easy to move.

I would love to move to a warmer climate.I would sell the house and go if i could stay in the USA for good, but i'm a canuck.I think my disability insurance and government disabilty insurance woud be void if i ever mover to a warm climate in the USA.Therefore i would have no income. My brotherinlaw has a empty house in Las Vegas that he bought to sell after the economy gets better. Its a real nice home with huge pool not far from the strip. If i got the nerve to ask...mabe i could live there for the winter months.

Wow Fonzy,
I would find the nerve! What a great opportunity for you. I say do it. A pool would be the thing to have too. It is the best excercise.

"If" I were going to move anywhere, it would be Arizona. I like the dry climate and the winters there. FL is just too humid for me. If you came to the Midwest to stay at your Mother's, you would really have the ups and downs all year long. The weather changes really bother me especially the lows and we have extreme weather changes. I am really hurting this weekend with our front.
I have a friend who moved with her husband from Northern OK to NM and within 18 months they had moved to TX still trying to find a place where she won't hurt as much.
I will stay put and deal with it here to be close to my family. I know I would rather be with them than to have less pain away from them.
I hope you can reach a decision and somehow get some relief, Pea.
Hugs. Possi

If I were a rich man, do do do do do do do. Sorry, that song came into me wee little brain. Seriously if I were to have more money it would be to build a small studio community for people who suffer from any form of arthritis and need to get away for months at a time. It would have a large pool, and be an oasis for us that need to feel like they have some quality of life during our roughest times. If I'm going to dream... Lon would be our resident pastor and everyone would be able to use their gifts accordingly!!!
