If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hope all our members and their families have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HEALTHY, Happy New Year.
This topic comes up some years and there have been some interesting discussions. I don't like most Christmas music but some tunes are pleasant enough--usually the most obscure ones.
Like my favorite. But that is the topic and my favorite, especially this the first year without Bert Jansch, the Scottish balladeer and primary member of Pentangle, who performed my favorite rendition of "The Cherry Tree Carol."
There are entire genres of music that I dismiss as noise or even worse, but I recently heard of a telephone number a person could call to hear a group (blue-eyed soul genre) whine and coo their awful garbage into the receiver. Don't wait for my call Darryl Hall and John Oates!
And this will be "What group is the MOST OVERRATED and worst, in Your opinion." Abba was close to the top for me, but they are a million times better than Hall and Oates. There will probably be no musicals for this group's inane rantings.
Well, some will certainly hate my favorite music, but it is something non-AS and as seb has reminded us--music has sometimes brightened our spirits and it has some healing properties, especially, for me, several key varieties. Sometimes even a pop tune can put things in perspective.
And to all a Good Night, KickAS- John

Merry Christmas to you too John. And to all of KA!
I guess I don't really have a favorite genre or artist of Christmas music. By this time of the season I'm pretty tired of it..LOL Thank you Sirius and Pandora..;)
Wish Everyone a Pain Free Holidays!!

I always found one thing really interesting about both ABBA and Elvis Presley - no matter how many people at a party said they couldn't stand either, the moment you put their music on everyone would be up dancing AND singing along.
Overrated groups? any of the boy/girl bands that have come out in the last few years. None of them can sing, and their songs are completely forgettable.

As for Christmas music, my major complaint is that every solo performer and every group seems to be pushed to do a Christmas/Holiday album. Why? Usually for the money. So we end up with hundreds of versions of Silent Night (which doesn't need hundreds of versions) and Jingle Bells (likewise). And bargain bins full of these albums in a year or two when the particular solo/group has become another One-Hit Wonder (not the Christmas album, though).... I'm glad for satellite radio, too.

I enjoy the traditional Christmas music, like "The Messiah" and the ones that choirs like to sing. For the 20th century classics, I really prefer them by the singers who made it popular the first time. Like "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby and "Holly, Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Gene Autry.
I also enjoy the silly and irreverent Christmas songs, like "Grandma got runover by a reindeer" and "The Night Santa Went Crazy".

Merry Christmas, John.
Don't really have a particular fave at the moment, I'm afraid.

Fingers pressed snugly against delicate ears if necessary but I refuse to listen to music that is urgh! Up with classical guitars... yay! Wishing this family the happiest of holidays and warmest wishes for the New year! G'night John - KickAS! mig
