If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello all,
I was diagnosed with AS around 10 years ago and having started almost immediately on a low starch diet (as one of Prof. Ebringer´s patients) I manageded to completely control my main symptoms: joint, back pain and Iritis. However, something which ocurrs time and time again over the past 3-4 years is glue ear or Otitis Media. My doctor said he didn´t think it was autoimmune related, but I am not sure how he could have known that. It doesn´t seem to usually turn into an infection - just have this feeling of blockness in my right ear. It's particularly irritating as I am a musician and need my ears to be working perfectly. Oddly, when I went for a hearing test recently, it came out as normal, though my feeling is that I cannot hear upper partials in my right ear as in my left. For instance when I rub my fingers together near my right ear, it sounds dull, as opposed to my left ear where I hear it cleanly. I cannot think of any reason why I should be getting repeated bouts of this and have begun to wonder whether like so many unexplained symtoms, it could be HLA related. Does anyone have any advice? Currently the only treatment available is a saline solution spray for the nose and an otovent, where you blow up a balloon with the nose! Funny but true....

For many years and no answers, I have dealt with same issues as you have, in regard to my ear problems.
I have even asked to be checked for Autoimmune diease of the inner ear. The ears aches (all my life), dry, the pain, hearing lose, black wax, itchy ears, small water pustuals - it's all made worse by by Auditory processing disorder. My ears don't hurt so much anymore - or maybe I am more tolerant of the pain. Doctors look at my ears, and say they can't understand why I am not in pain, they are so red. They are always wanting to put me on some med - but stop when I tell them the med they want me on I am allergic to.
I always say it's my iritis - I am HLA B27+ - It's continuing to get worse.
Sorry don't have answers - will follow your post
