You say this as though it might NOT happen. laugh2 some of us have children that need it out of sight to be out of mind and are monkeys. I got tired of puzzle pieces laying around, so now the puzzles are in a box in my closet. I'm afraid that if I missed a piece and they find it, we'll have a whole "Somewhere in Time" thing going on.

My oldest tried to rescue toys from shelf. Didn't result in broken bones, only bruises. Since the closet door had a knob, I put a childproof gizmo on it, which worked for about a month till he figured it out (age 2). Sheesh. Bailey has proven herself precocious, so I mentioned the chair. Kids can be so resourceful.

I just find alot of her tips ways unrealistic for someone who has a limmited amount of energy.. as are most websites offering tips that i have found.. they dont realize that with a right shoulder polishing my White sink (ug i want to replace it) is a waste of time and energy.

I had a well intentioned but full of energy friend come over to clean my house and a little spring cleaning. she made my counters really clean.. but i had to bend over or reach for things.. and well that doesnt work for me.. so i fixed it back. the best book i ever read was "confessions of organized housewife" and she teaches system of grouping things that makes alot of sense. and transfer stations..stuff sits at stairs to go up or down rathe than me run and that each room has its own cleaning kit.

When we were living in a two story house, I kept a laundry basket at the top of the steps and one at the bottom. When anyone in the family had to go up or down, they took anything that was theirs and put it away. Everyone was responsible for taking things like linens, tp or soap for the bathroom.

Thank GOD I don't have stairs, and I swear I never will. (fortunately for me, 2-story houses aren't very popular here in NM.) TWO of my apartment-dwelling friends have actually asked to be downstairs because of me (bless them!). smile
I'll have to check out that book, Charity, thank you! i've been doing well with dressing to shoes every day, and emptying the dishwasher, and I'm keeping my sink much cleaner, and using a dinger to measure 15-min rest/clean sessions helps me, but I can never do 15 On/15 Off, it's more like 15 On/30 to 45 Off.

It's ok to do the 30 min off. Some people only do 7 minutes on. Whatever works for you. Just remember we can do almost anything for only a short time. I am amazed at how much I can accomplish in 10 or 15 minutes, when I try.

Hi barngoddess,

I haven't looked through all these threads, but for picking things up off the floor, they make these long metal things with a handle at the top which activates a claw like contraption. You could probably find one on amazon or Bed Bath & Beyond. Good Luck and I feel for ya.

Hugs,
Lauren
