If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Thanks . Honey does have a little bit of sucrose but I don't think it could be that as I was eating lots of sucrose by the time I stopped the low starch paleo. FOS... well that could certainly do it. I've switched to using a tsp of liquid glucose, will see if that sorts it. Thanks v much for your help.

Also keep in mind that walnuts were in the list of foods that boost serotonin, so snacking on walnuts in addition to the glucose might help -- as long as you're not sensitive to nuts (walnuts and blanched almonds seem to be the lowest-starch nuts, only trace amounts of starch).

I also wanted to check what concentration of iodine I should get. I looked on Ebay but it comes in different % and I didn't know what was best. Thanks.

I've decided to add some of the other foods back in. If it's going to take a long time working out what to do with sugar and minimising starch, I think I'm better off just focussing on that. I'm getting fed up of meat and veg, and don't want to increase the risk of falling off altogether. Plus I am craving eggs which I know means there's some egg nutrition I'm missing. So- eggs, skinless almonds and butter are back in. Other dairy is staying out to minimise lactose and casein. My GP gave me a small bottle of 5% lugol's iodine for starch testing Thanks .

Sorry my link was goofed up; can't seem to go back and fix it, so here it is again
http://ezinearticles.com/?FOS-%28Fructooligosaccharides%29:-A-Gut-Flora-Balancer-and-Sugar-Substitute&id=421409
(last time I was trying to get it link-ified, this time I've left it alone so at least people can copy-paste it)
A key point in the article:
"FOS is commonly extracted from chicory roots and Jerusalem artichokes (inulin occurs in relatively large quantities in these plants) but it is also found in onions, leeks, garlic, common artichokes, bananas, rye, barley, dandelion leaves, burdock root and honey."
I've also heard elsewhere that FOS is found in asparagus, which would explain why artichokes and asparagus make me stiffer despite low or no starch content.
