Well gang I joined the trip fall club yesterday. It was quite a graceful move if I do say so myself.

I volunteer for the local Jr Golf League every summer. We had just loaded the truck with our equipment and were going to set up our practice areas. I decided to just walk it rather than ride on the truck, I walked around the truck, stepped in a dip in the ground, and over I went. All 6'6" and 300+ lbs went over top dead center and came to rest with an earth shaking thud. eek2 Now this could have happened anywhere on the course, and I would have landed in some lush green grass, but NO not me, I find that the limestone screenings behind the equipment shed to be much more of a challenge. The gravel did wonders on my knees, hands and forehead. Yep a perfect 5 point landing... 1cup

So I spent most of yesterday back in bed, and am pretty stiff and sore this morning.. I have some great looking cuts, scrapes and bruises. Who said golf wasn't a contact sport. tongue4

Congratulations Chris!!!!!!!!!!!!! clap clap clap

So sorry to hear that far more than your dignity has taken a battering... blush

Hope all the deep bruises and joint pains subside ASAP - what we don't need is MORE aches and pains! eek

Remember to ice, ice and ice some more... yes And from tomorrow - add in nice long soak in a warm tub with lots of Epsom salts in the water.

hi chris,

sorry you fell hard too. me too, on saturday, but i didn't stick the landing. thought for sure i broke both my knees. mechanically, the fall didn't seem to affect anything. but a few days later, started going into a flare; i'm currently doing my best to fight it. ice, rest, and hot showers, and taking it real easy......seems all we can do. i thought about pred, but wanted to save it. feel better soon. hugss

I can empathise with you there chris. Thought it'd be a good idea to cycle down to the shops but the only bike available was my dads road bike. Clip in pedals and all! (yeah, you know whats coming!) Came to a set of lights and cruised past all the cars into the pushbike area and even had the forethought to remember that I needed to unclip one of my feet before stopping. Then ended up falling over toward the foot that I hadn't unclipped.... idiot!

Lost a bit of skin but i think my pride was bruised more than anything else.

Sounds like you gave yourself a full makeover though, hope you have a speedy recovery.

OUch. Did the Russian judge give you good grades too?

I did one of those last year. Volunteered to sreak at a seminar. It ran late and I was supposed to be in a meeting by the time I was leaving. Walking through the parking lot at warp speed a not very visible piece of rebar was sticking up about 2 inches. I caught it with my left foot. Did a double hopon my right foot still at good clip to try to stick the landing lost control did a whirl and smashed down.

Bruises. Torn suit pants and then I looked at the index finger on my right hand and it was... well.. backward. Bent all the way back andthe joints kinda in reverse. I looked at my watch... knew I was going to be very late so I took the finger and squeezed it up real hard into the position it should be in...ouch. It still doesn't work quite right.

Be well and make those kids pay... give them some wicked cruel drills next time out.

That dang Russian judge docked me style points for doing the head turn maneuver to protect my face.. mad Thought I had it caught at a 4 point until the shockwave hit my left shoulder and it screamed and ran like a school girl, leaving me in ideal position for the high point full face plant grind. But since my "Matrix" motion had kicked in I had plenty of time to duck and turn my head, saving this mug and taking a few good limestone gashes above the left eye. roll

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!! I'll be making an encore performance next Wed morning.. I am pretty sure that "Cirque de Soleil" is sending a scout.. floor

Hey there Chris welcome to the trip and fall club. Glad you survived to tell the tale. You poor guy, sounds as though you will be sore and remembering this one for a while.

Chris, face plant grind, nice the Russian should have given you a perfect 10 for that one.
Two weeks ago i did a "face plant grind"in the water(a foot deep on rocks)and she(if the Russian was a man it would have been a 10)gave me a 4.I think she took points off because i was beening pulled by a dog.
