If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi everyone, I am wondering if anyone else has these symptoms from their AS. I seem to be getting it more often. My neck which has bothered me for years seems to be getting worse. what i have noticed is pain in my throat, my cheek bone and eye socket all the left side. Feels like my gums are inflamed, but are not. always on the left side. once time my throat was so sore, i could not eat for a few days as i could not swallow. it comes and goes usually lasts a few days then will come back sometimes within several weeks, and as long as months between flares. I have has AS 30 plus years, low back is fused, mid back and chest pain and iritis are main complaints. I have been on enbrel for 5 years. I do not sleep well, could this be fibromyalgia, related to poor sleep? or AS??? anyone else?????

Have you ever had your sinuses checked? One of my biggest problems was a constant sinus infection that never seemed to go away. I guess I have scar tissue in my sinuses due to repeated infections. Was diagnosed with sinusitis. I was referred to a ear/nose/throat doc and had a minor surgury to open up my sinuses and has made a huge difference. I hope you find some relief.

I definitely have neck pain that starts at the base of my skull and radiates down my spine and up into my eye socket/sinus. I still suspect sinus infection issues since I spent about 15 years struggling with them (and then they mysteriously went away...turning into another inflammation?). But I don't experience the sore throat. I would definitely get this checked out as it could be an underlying infection.

I just bumped up Sarah's question about a similar type of issue, and the advice shared may be helpful for you. Best wishes!

Throat - mine is a gravelly voice, very grating. Throat not sore per se, but very often swallowing is difficult as thugh a lunp in the throat and sometimes can feel a piece of bone jagging into the oesophagus (did this last Satuday afternoon, went into a paroxism of ocughing and was hardly able to breath, the pain of the 'hag' was horrible. Felt like someone had their thumb jaammed right into my throat). Swallowing often diff and *always swalalowing on a bit of a lump.
Cheek Bone - have mild TMJ (OA in the jaw). One time couold not open mouth properly for a whole week. Right weird but nowt like to that again. But sometimes jaw ache and jaw bone crepitus - it 'scrunches'.
Eye socket - sometimes. But eye probs mainly from Sjogren's and no tension glaucoma.
Prob not helped you at all. But ocmmiserations.
