Maybe I'm here in the backwater of Downunder, but did the rest of you know that May 07 is *the* dedicated AS Awareness Day? Maybe we all need to beg Bridget (Barngoddess) to make those donkey keychains and charm bracelets with blue ribbons on them (I *think* AS was blue...  ) ASAP so we can wear them with pride and spread the word about a disease that affects 0.3-0.5% of the population. There are supposedly upwards of 33,000,000 of us in the world!  I also discovered Jenna Visscher's blog: www.theFeedingEdge.comGo check out what she is doing to raise awareness of AS - it will make you think of apples in a whole new way!

WOW - Louise. Terrific. Lovely apples, and great to fall over the Spondyville site again - had been in the vagueries of the back of my mind to see if it was still around... May 7 on my clanedar is clearly marked as recovery from cinco de mayo day. Good to for AS awareness since hopefully will be too numb to move.

For those in the UK, this weekend is also when the NASS en Masse fundraiser will be taking place - this year in two locations, with the London walk in the park on Sunday 8th. It was good fun last year - further details available on the NASS website.

What we have a day!!! I didn't know ppl even knew we exsisted... at least the people I know are like "huh you have what?" Then comes the fun part "well you look healthy." really cuz I feel like cr@p But whoo hoo we have a day, strangely that makes me feel better.
Christina  I may have AS, PsA, ReA, SpA and every Itis you can imagine but my Itis's do not define me. Dx'd April 2008 Prednisone 5mg Plaquinel 400mg Enbrel 50mg/week Methotrexate 25mg/week Lidoderm 5% patch, love em! Bio-35 multivit I call them crackamins their great for energy! and a whole slew of anti-inflammatory and pain pills

 I guess for most of us here EVERY DAY is spondylitis awareness day... but this one is for the rest of the world! It seems that most info out there for "AS" is for Autism Spectrum, so you might want to qualify *which* AS you have!  (so says the oft' tired and frustrated mother of an Aspie...  ) GASP! - The Global Ankylosing Spondylitis Project - AS Awareness Month 2011 Posted on: 4/1/2011 April is spondylitis awareness month and May 7th is World AS Day.
