If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

i know u mentioned glutamine but the whole idea didnt click til tinks post explaining things. anyway, they have an enzyme to digest.... MILKFAT!!! and CASEIN!!! and everything else we eat kinda interesting huh" Tell us if it helps you deal with cream!! Now that you mention it, I did bring home a supplement for gluten digestion once, but it never did get tried... deemed too risky, after realizing that literally a crumb of bread was enough to ruin 2 nights sleep! So now we both bring our own non-wheat bread for communion (very low-starch almond bread for me) Also note that the glutamine and colostrum are complementary to the enzymes, so they are all things worth experimenting with (though probably not all started at once, so you can better judge which are helpful to you) * glutamine is an amino acid used by the body for gut repair * colostrum is supposed to calm gut inflammation so it isn't so leaky * enzymes allow more food to be digested before reaching the gut, so that less food has the opportunity to escape from a leaky gut and stir up our immune system * enzymes that break down carbs would help them to be digested before reaching the gut, so they won't boost the Klebsiella population that makes our immune system really whacked out

sunny, Hi. We have similarities. I have had the diahrea for 30 years. so I take immodium. When I first cam on the site. It was the dragon slayer told me it was all goingo make me sick at first. Not to give up. I can not tolerate any milk, the soy fake milk, the pills nothing works, I donot tolerate milk. What does eem to work is absolutley no starch, absolutley no milk product with an antibiotic for a while and then I can tolerate foods. but I am oposite for you, in the fact my body swells at the joints when in a flare, and in the stomach. journal your foods, start over if you have too. an apple, orange, everything hurt me in the early days...
keep us posted, we care.

once i get the suppliments and try them i will definitely share. i will try the glutamine and colostrum likely after i get started on a basic broad spectrum enzyme. do u take colostrum and glutamine? or do u know of starch free ones? thanks

hi lon im glad u wrote. i do need to clarify so we r on the same page though. first i have an allergy to all fresh fruits, veggies and treenuts that causes itching mouth (14yrs now). doesnt leave a lot of wiggle room on NSD but ive gotten by to this point. when i say this or that bothers me im refering to how it affects me AS wise. i also get the joint swelling as a result. i dont get diarrhea much but been on doxy mwf/30 days (no improvement) and it has caused some diarrhea and abdominal discomfort. im pretty regular otherwise. i have journaled and that is a helpful tool. my diet is pretty boring and bland so its pretty easy these days to pinpoint a problem. im really sorry that we seem to relate though, i know its not easy. But we can learn from each other and THAT is priceless. thank u for caring. i care too sunny

hi alinus
i think i have had a similar test done. either way im thinkin instead of elimination of foods, which ive already tried, maybe an enzyme to actually digest it properly is worth a try. thanks

I am using enzymes as well to digest food - due to my UC - trypsin, lipase, amylase - but they will not help you with your AS. Maybe they will help you ease your gut a little bit. Anyway - be verry carrefull and talk about this with a doctor - uncontrolled use of enzymes may trigger by their on allergic effects. Also, there are enzymes that can make you hurt - i've used some time ago wobenzym (rich in bromelain - they state it has a verry good antyinflamatory effect) for a time and it got me in a nice UC flare. and for me where UC comes, AS follows. We all have different bodies...and different reaction to outside stimulations...
i don't know wich test you've made. York testes 113 common foods for intolerance. If one intends to do it one needs to have all those foods in ones diet for at least 6 weeks prior to the test.
good luck. I do not think that this test results will help achieving remission, but probably avoiding some agressive foods will help ease the inflammation.
34. Some rheumys say AS stage 1-2 some others say USpA Also UC - rectocolitis. UC curently in remission since feb 2011. AS/USpA remission march-aug 2011. Flare - sept-nov 2011 (antibiotics). Remission now... Modified NSD/SCD. Cook your own ! ____________________________________________________________ Mesalazine-Salofalk 500 mg/day And the list of my medication has become verry short after some years on this diet

alinus,
im glad u find enzymes helpful to you UC. however, i think its unfair of u to say that it wont help with my AS. it may or may not help but im up against the wall and feel its worth a try.
i a appreciate the warning on bad effects from uncontrolled use. im trying to be cautious in this venture.
as for making u hurt. im new to this subject but ive read some folks r sensitive to the fruity enzymes, such as bromelain. i wont know til i try though cuz like u said, we r all different.
i do not plan to do the york test as ive done a test similar with 90 or more foods. its expensive testing.

Hi Sunny, I have similar allergy problems although not NEARLY as bad as you. I got allergy tested also pre AS about 4 years ago and eliminated all my allergy foods. But have since gained new allergies and have had to eliminate a lot of good safe foods. I think intestinal healing is key to controlling both allergies and AS. I did the 4 day rotation diet for a long time but it is so much more work and I don't want to anymore. I work with a naturopath and we're trying something else for awhile. I am doubling my glutamine and she gave me different enzymes to try as well as continuing my probiotics. All to try and help heal the gut. I just started this regime a couple weeks ago, so it's a little early to tell if its working.
Also, I did do a colon cleansing fairly early on and think it helped alot. The book "An Alternative Medicine Definitive Guide to Arthritis" by Zampieron and Kamhi was really helpful for me. They have it at Amazon pretty cheap.
My 2 cents Annette
Give praise for what you have and keep working for what you want.
