cemc,
I agree, I felt terrible on those two together.
Now with just cymbalta, I can often deal with the pain.

Anky- keep us posted, ok?
I take my sleep meds on Sunday morning -they are the only thing that relaxes me enough to do a good job on Sundya morning..

cemc,

Just be aware and get the details of who is making what claims. There is a cult out there who howls and screams against any psychotropic med, because, unlike their mumbo jumbo, meds usually actually help people. That effects their income stream.

The group in question is pretty good at masquerading themselves as something legitimate.

On the whole I trust MDs more than I trust pseudoreligious quacks.

Shalom,

John

I'm with Lon on team Cymbalta. Narcotics make me feel SOOOOOOOO dizzy and awful, but Cymbalta just makes the pain go away. I felt relief the very first day I took it. However, I was VERY HAPPY (probably the strong antidepressant) for about two weeks on 30mg, so I had to drop down to 20mg per day. I hear that the withdrawl from it can take months and be miserable, but I plan to take it permanently unless it stops working, so withdrawl doesn't scare me. And I only have to take narcotics now when I have a bad pain day.

I tend to have paradoxical reactions to a lot of meds, so when I find one that works I stick with it! A few years ago I was given Xanax, but it made me SUPER cranky and irritable. And then a doc gave me Ambien, which made me cry uncontrollably for 5 minutes until I passed out.

And yes, muscle relaxers are crucial for me, but even some of those make my heart beat too fast. Cyclobenzaprine works the best, at the lowest dosage.

I LOVE MODERN MEDICINE!

It's funny that none of my doctors have ever suggested I take any antidepressant meds.

It is amazing the differences in meds from one person to the next. What helps one acts opposite with another. I think it would be interresting to see what everyone here at kickas is on, if they are happy with their meds, like are they working, helping you sleep, decreasing pain, helping with depression or anxiety. All this would have to be totally nonjudgemental.
