If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Woke up at 3:45 am yesterday, drove to Salt Lake, got on a bus and headed up Parley's canyon. Then got off the bus and ran 13.1 miles back to Salt Lake. What we do for fun. It was 4 miles up hill to the top of Little Mountain. Then 9 miles down Emigration Canyon. I was freezing at the start. Then about 2 miles into the race I was in the sun, and getting hot. It was my slowest 1/2 marathon, took 2 hours and almost 15 minutes. I had some small injuries at the beginning of August so didn't have all the training I wanted. The heat caused me some problems (maybe from the MS, heat brings on MS symptoms). About mile 7 my hips started hurting, AS problem. By mile 9 my hips didn't hurt anymore, but it was really hot. I just pushed it for the last 4 miles.
Then I took a nap, and went to the BYU football game. From there I went to the Story Telling Festival. I was a long day, but fun. I did sneak a nap in before the game.
I am worried because a couple of times near the end of the race my feet started dragging , and I had to walk a little ways. It may have been from the heat and MS.

Hi Orch, Well done for running like you do I think your amazing considering you have AS and MS. I know you have been running a long time and how much it means to you but maybe its time to ease up a bit road running can do a lot of damage to joints not a good idea with AS you could regret it in the end if you over do it.
Well done again your an inspiration to so many.
Kevin

thanks for the account! glad you could do it, wish it had been easier for you.
but then to do two more activities after that on the same day! i think that would have been it for most for the week!
that's impressive even for someone without a chronic disease.
congrats to you!

Orch, that is impressive. As a precaution, on your next visit with the doctor, I would discuss your experience. But, I say Go For It.
