If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Luigi! Thanks for your post and also for the information that you have provided online. You were my inspiration for trying the treatment!
My treatment was in October 09 so it has been well over 8 weeks now. As I said in my account, I think it certainly helped for the first 6 months, but the disease activity is now about where its was before the treatment. However, I do notice that the worst flares are no as bad as the ones I had before the treatment.
Finnari - not sure about Jacymov being 7 times more powerful than the Heilstollen. I do know that Jackymov offers the highest radon concentrations out of any treatment center but I am not sure if is that high relative to the Heilstollen. I think you have to be careful of the accuracy of the information provided online. The standard of meaurements used can also be different.

Very well written play by play account of the entire process. Brings back memories.. . I too suffer from AS and have only be in the Heilstollen once; happened on it by chance on a ski trip to Bad Gastein. To me, the most uncomfortable moments were the ‘German briefing' prior to entering the loading area, the eerie silence while on the train and caves, the heat/humidity, and the fact you can't just get up and leave if you feel like it. I have to admit I was a little tense until the train pulled out and the ambient temp cooled off. In preparation, I would ‘train’ with a gradual increase in sauna /steam room time until I was comfortable with 60 of heat at a time. It’s not that bad, just somewhat discomforting sitting there and sweating like no tomorrow. I mainly concentrated on taking long slow and somewhat deep breaths with equal time spent on inhaling and exhaling. Other tips, take two towels in; one to lay on and a small one to wipe the sweat off your brow. Also a large (quart/20+ml) bottle of cool water; I think they allowed that, but don’t recall now. I had a message after my 30 minute (almost nap time) in the recovery area with nice mountain vista windows and quiet as a library with soothing music playing. The message was spot on, these guys know how to work AS and the recovery area helped calm my nerves. I do hope to return some day for the ‘full’ treatment if/when needed and would encourage other to investigate this if sitting on the fence. My main take away from my brief encounter is… this is a very high tech above boards multimillion dollar operation, that get’s little to no attention in the US because for the ‘Radon stigmatism’. If you lived in Eastern Europe, this is considered standard ‘medicine’.

Thank you for sharing this experience. It helps so much to ease the fear of traveling in a foreign country. Now if I can just talk my husband into going with me!
