red,angry,swollen,itchy bumps,courtesy of the dreaded Scottish MIDGE fly.
i have no idea why this tiny little [*bleep*] picks on me every August,some folk don't get bitten or react at all.
these "spots" could easily last 2 weeks or so.did not get much sleep last night.
i have 1/2 a jar of cream on at the moment and will use the other 1/2 tonight before sliding into bed to dream of the blessed winter

they do sell topical insect repellent you could try for Midge season. hope you feel better soon

it's night time, in bed, they are ganging up on me. jeez my sexlife is bad enough without putting on repellents before bed

You could try some brewers yeast in some juice
Its really high in natural B vitamins and bugs dont like the smell of you. I use it for my dogs as it repels fleas too. I know vegemite here has high B(made from yeast extract) but not sure about bovril in UK.

Isn't there anyway to fix the screens and keep them out of the house? Ether that or keep all the windows closed.

Oh no! I recommend white vinegar for your bites.  My son is in West Kilbride with his sweet wife. If you see a really tall redheaded guy... Early 20's... Can you warn them?
