Hi kat..well then it's confirmed! One nice drink does help me! lol. I've had to have a drink maybe every other week. Nothing major..but I WILL say that a nice rum and coke gives the warm and fuzzy feeling I need when whimpering from this vicious AS pain. I dont drink regularly. Cant. Father was an alcoholic and I saw what it did to him. He cleaned up 16 yrs ago but it was no fun. But on occasion it works...better than the pain pills. lol rainbow your pal buggy

Hi Sherri
I am like you, can drink anything I want and as much as I want and can even mix drinks and I never get a hangover.
Now if only the police would give me an exemption so I could drive early the next day I could drink every night.

Goodness! I am the opposite!
A cheap date!
One sip of anything alcoholic and I am as merry as you like!
Also it only takes a little bit to give me a hangover from hell devil2
That is just not right is it? laugh2

My dad suffered with irreversible DIP because he decided to drink a few beers once in a while while taking medications with specific warnings against it.

The last 12 years of his life were horrible for him because of his loss of motor control.

I recommend that people think long and hard about the possible and/or probable outcomes of drinking with meds.

It's a DANGEROUS practice!

And I really need everyone here, so just for my sake don't do it. heart

erica: glad to see you posting this warning in multiple alcohol threads... theres one just popped up in diet forum too.

alcohol makes me hurt and ache. i did have some chardonnay [kills bacteria including klebs] just one glass once in a while might be ok but i had some 3 nights in a row and it started getting to me pain wise.

I can relate to this, the only thing that helped my massive flare I had a couple summers ago was alcohol. Sometimes it is the only thing that makes me feel better.

Well I have been known in the past to have a drink or a smoke when the pain gets too bad and it helps somewhat, not enough that I wanted to do it regularly...I know I shouldn't drink with all the meds I am on.

I do think it probly has to do with dulling the pain receptors or some grand explanation like that...

I plan to retest this theory tomorrow night at the ABBA tribute band at our local RSL. Will let you know the outcomel hopefully not while still drinking or it could be an interesting post.

Had a great time when the tribute band last played here so I am realy looking forward to it.
