If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Yep, that would absolutely [*bleep*] me off and I'm sure I would have reacted with a scene. I am not that way in all cases, but I am with the way I KNOW how I feel. I’m typically respectful, but that doctor showed no respect. I think I probably would have made sure he called the rheumy right there and then. If he refused I would have pulled out my cell and dialed right there and then. Grrrrr.

You should have asked him to see his degree and asked if you could get a snapshot of it. Tell him you want to send it off the pic to a novelty store to have some personalized toilet paper made so you can think about the great education he received from his school every day.

yeah, really! something wrong here, I would think that the doctor who sent you to pain management in the first place would be ticked off too, I'd contact them and tell them what happened, and take it from there What do you think of the doctor that referred you? If it's good, definitely let them know what happened. Also let your rheumy know they are about to be contacted by this pain mgmt doc regarding your 'bogus diagnosis'. Sheeesh. Hugs to you on this.

It's posts like this that make me respect my kindly rheumy (Glenn Parris, Atlanta) more and more. Someone sent me this link a week ago: http://answers.ankylosing.org/25024/thou...inebe-your-own/While our rheumy docs are used to treating illnesses that don't get better, I think we can scare other doctors who simply want to "fix" us. I never thought about it that way. They look at the x-rays, and they don't see damage where we're feeling it yet. So they assume. I had very skilled doctors at Emory who also didn't understand - gastro/spine doc. If you feel you want to be an advocate for those with AS (cause they may get other patients), I'd have the rheumy call or I'd send a short email explaining the disorder and how discouraged you are that your condition was not understood and not properly treated because of this. Then I'd go find someone who does listen and not judge. Anyone else isn't worth your time. There are other amazing professionals out there who have the curiosity and drive to help.

Jeff, I don't blame you for being angry. I would be, too. I'd like to know what Cracker Jacks box that pain management specialist got his degree out of, personally. This link will take you to a recent discussion that contains a link to the new diagnostic criteria for AS. ASAS Criteria You might want to print it, show it to the so-called specialist, toothpick his eyes open and force him to read it, then shove it up his AS so he gains some kind of undertanding of what his patients are experiencing. Once you're done with him, take it over to your GP, who also sounds like a first class creep, and do the same thing. Idiot. Grrr. Definitely get back to your rheumy on this joker. He does not deserve to be practicing. Hugs,
Kat

Wait a minute. This just sifted through my brainpan...
he pushed a few spots on my body and asked me if it hurt and at this present time NO it didnt hurt. and then he told me that he has had patients with AS and their spot he checked on them was tender.
Does he think you have a fibromyalgia diagnosis? You don't test for AS by pressing on spots to see if they're tender. That's how you test for fibro. What the....???!!
Hugs,
Kat

When he gives me tha "oh I will " referring to calling your rheumy.there is no way I am not walking right up to his diploma and reaing it out loud. For isntance saying, "Hmm univerity of BLANK" and then asking him if he's got the university's phone number because I need to check up on that.
Then I add did they have any courses on professional demeanor or did he audit those.
