Discovery Of New Proteins That Regulate Blood Pressure, Flow

(Snip...) "The pathway he and collaborator David D. Roberts, Ph.D., of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), have been exploring involves nitric oxide (NO) signaling. The cells that line blood vessels, called the endothelium, produce NO in a few biochemical steps. NO promotes blood vessel dilation and increases blood flow. Conversely, endothelial dysfunction, along with loss of NO production, is known to be involved in the development of many forms of cardiovascular disease, including hypertension."

------------------------------------#

This is our old friend L'Arginine, see : The Arginine Solution (that won the Nobel prize in the 80s - 1985? Forget.)

L'Arginine is a vasodilator. I control my elevated BP *with L'Arginine, and NO side effects, and yes, NO interminable visits to the loo and all the rest of being incomoded by the side effects of the BP lowering pharma drugs!

Have just brought my elevated BP down from a very high 225/120 - 197/110 - 189/105 TO 145/95 - 140/87 - 139/85 Just by taking the simple 'NOS' L'Arginine - available OTC.

(Interestingly, I have quite a big difference between my right arm and left arm pressure readings, can be from a 5 to a 10 difference - *right giving the *higher pressure results. Ha, trust 'me' to be different <LOL>)

My doctor is amazed - still shaking his head hehe - I 'refused' to take those darn water pills and all the rest of the pharmaceuticals... Told him: 'No. Back to a course of L'Arginine for me.' Stuff works. And works darn well, as I have just proved. (But don't think for one moment that 'he' will take this simple solution/remedy for elevated BP on board. Sigh.)

In addition, a therapy of simple beetroot juice is excellent for lowering elevated BP. Not my fave vegetable by any manner of means, but...have waiting in the kitchen the dreaded beetroot to go make me a smoothie or summat! Or mebbe I'll just chop it up an mix with good old plain yogurt - make it more palatable.

Anyways, there ya go. All very simple AND EFFECTIVE. So don't get beat by high blood pressure as there ARE *simple ways of dealing very effectively with it.

Molly, thanks for this. I'll see if I can get my sweetie drinking beetroot juice. He'll probably look at me and say in horror, "You want me drinking Beetlejuice??!!"

Warm hugs,

Kat

Yea Saltire - another Arginine taker. Good for you. Did you read the book: The Arginine Factor? Facinating.

(Also use Arginine for horses - excellent for problems of IR and Cushings. Now found efficacious in the management of/treating DSLD/ESPA - which is incurable, but the horse can be made comfortasble and pasture 'sound'.)

I start by taking 500mg twice per day to get BP down to a better level, then steady out with 500mg once per day. Am now adding in the beetroot - cut it up today and took with the yogurt!

I don't smoke; drink wine and the occasional bourbon, exercise moderately: inflammatory arthritis in the feet aint helpful and *detest swimming - chlorine water, other people's bath water...errrrr, no thanks!

Bro Lon. In 'simople' language (not too good at 'simple' always manage to go 'turgid'...hahaha

L'Arginine. 500mg per day Lon. You can purchase over the counter, Walmart sell it - look under body building section (body builders use it to vasodilate their veins) and check for the AAKG: Alpha Arginine KetoGlutarate.

Beetroot juice - don't ask me 'how much' cause you'll have to decide/manage that one yourself! I ate a whole small beet today with the plain yog - errrrr. Still don't like beetroot, but have a suspician that *eating the stuff as opposed to *drinkig it might be the better option for me - IF ya see what I mean! (Barf!) alien
