John, I'm so sorry to hear about Motor, but the send-off sounds wonderful.

We had to have our dog, Tascha, put down last Tuesday. My sweetie, his son and girlfriend, and I were there and we all wept. More because we'll miss her terribly, but the grieving occurred while we were fighting her cancer. When we have the ashes, we're going to spread them at her favourite place and raise a glass of good brandy in a toast. The house seems empty without her; although, the cats are much more relaxed, even if they are missing her. The little one spent days looking for her and crying. The older one came out of hiding. Anyway, just wanted to commiserate a bit.

As for popping wheelies on your scooter, OK, so, you now realize that's a bad idea, right?

Hugs,

Kat

Sweet, well done send-offs (I like very much that you called it that) for both Motor and Sascha, wonderful that they both had such caring humans! heart

Thanks, Lisa.

Fortunately I hit the back of my head. Scrambled brains, of course, but no facial disfigurement, which is good. I don't need to be uglier.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, too.

Tascha's sendoff sounds awesome as well.

Motor never had any fear of dogs, no matter the size; I think he believed they were all here for his entertainment. I believe they both may be off romping together in the World to Come, free of pain and with the ultimate Master.

When my time comes I want it to be a sendoff, too. I've been dead twice, and it's much better than being limited to this meat suit.

On the other hand, I know I don't get to set the time and date for my permanent return there.

As far as wheelies go, I'm still learning the limits of the scooter. I now know it will NOT take a 240 lb rider up a twenty four degree incline. I always try to push things to the edge of the envelope, and tend to learn the way one learns how to drive a racecar-- disasters and wrecks. When I made my 30th high school reunion almost nobody could believe I showed up. They were expecting my presence to be an etching from a tombstone.

Thanks, Lisa! I hope you enjoy the articles. I'm reading all eight of the Callahan's books.

Hi Johninco.
I'm sorry to hear about motor too.

I tried looking around for some ideas on the internet but I didn't see anything as far as hand rails or other safety addons for wheelchair ramps.

Like you said though it is probably better to step off of the wheelchair first and then walk it up the ramp.

Take care,
James
