My wounderful son that is in Korea serving the US has had iridest. Sorry not spell it right anyway he has had it at least 4 times in a year they told him they (Army) would do blood work and see what is going on because of my AS. Well it is been almost 2 months and they have lost the blood work. I starting to think they found AS but want to keep him right where he is so they lost it. wink wink

It is so sad he is 19 it seems his is starting a bit earlyer than mine. Mine did not kick up real bad until I started having my kids.

thanks for listening

Hope everyone is doing great love you all and God bless
everyone.

Hi. It doesn't have to be AS. People with same biological background may develop many forms of autoimmunitary diseases in the same family.

So maybe it's just iritis wich is also common for HLA B27 group.

34. Some rheumys say AS stage 1-2 some others say USpA
Also UC - rectocolitis.

UC curently in remission since feb 2011.
AS/USpA remission march-aug 2011. Flare - sept-nov 2011 (antibiotics). Remission now...

Modified NSD/SCD. Cook your own !

awwww Donna, that sucks.

Hopefully, it is nothing more than iritis. If it is though, remember the medical community has come so far with meds since you were diagnosed. Look at Eric. You would never know that anything is wrong with him!

Good luck to your son, and thank him for me.

Hi Donna, first off, I want to thank your son for his service to our country. I'm so sorry you and your son have to do this long distance. It's hard enough to have him so far away without having to deal with all this. As a Mom, I know the fear always in the back of your mind that your children could have AS also. Both my grown children have shown signs of the disease but refuse to get checked. I have mixed feelings about it but it is their decision. I hope the military docs "find" his blood work, the test for HLA-B27 gene is expensive.

Thank your son for his service for me, please.

It's encouraging to see that the Army pays attention nowadays. They may be trying to determine a course of treatment which would keep him available for line duty. They did that for one of my boys.

I hope they can find one and not end his career (if that's what he wants)-- I don't know that much about AS even though it appears I've had it all my life, but it appears to me that if it's caught early (or even if it isn't) you can stay active and functional for years.

I'm so sorry and hope he feels better soon. I hope he gets the chance to rest and take a break from stress and eat well. I know you are worried and will be so glad when he is finally home.

Aww Geez Donna...I remember last time you mentioned the iritis bouts...I had hoped they had a plan of treatment for him. It's difficult to have him so far away and top off health issues...I can only imagine your worries.

Gianna has JRheumatoid and it was heartbreaking to see her start at 11 with it then the dx. But I pray that his eases up or at worst iritis only. Write me when u can..luv buggy

Hey thanks all of you for the prayer and the very nice words. I will let you know what they say when they finaly come back. He told me today he got them to run another blood test because they still could not find the 1st.

Hope this one stays found.
