If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I am pretty sure my hip is flared up and has been doing so for over a month now. I am very active, pilates, bootcamp twice a week, and running on my off class days. I have lost 55 lbs since Sept - long story as to why I gained the weight but whatever.
I am in pain and it is causing me to not be able to do these activities to the degree that I like....I am just wondering how long I hold out before I make a rheumy appt and figure out if I needs more meds or whatever.
Cheers!

I am no expert or doctor but for what its worth, my opinion is you should get it checked out sooner rather than later.
It could simply by a flare however you want to rule out injury of any sort. The last thing you want to do is make it worse by doing things you possibly shouldn't.
Fingers crossed it is nothing serious and a simple med change or increase does the trick.
All the best mate.

Hi Aims, Wow 55 lbs that's a lot. You have been really active this year, good for you. My question would be when did you see your doc last and when is your next appointment? If you Rheumy appointment isn't in the next 6 weeks or so, it might not be a bad idea to call. like Trish said you may just need a change of meds, but let him know then he can decide the next step. I would cut down on the excessive exercise, like running, until then, but keep up the Pilates. I will tell you, There is a tendancy to overdo the exercise and sports in AS'ers who are or once were athletes, it's a phycological thing, really. Cindy

Hey I know excatly how you feel.
I've been feeling like taht for the past week as well.
My groins/hip reigons are really sore because the last one and a half months, I've been running long distances, swimming and walking long distances and going back to school, basically continuing my life as per normal.
My rheumy tells me to go slow and not over exert myself because I'm still in rehab period.
I'm disappointed and a bit depress beacause I'm afraid I might be flaring up again but aside from pain that feels like a constant pull, I'm still felxible in those area.
So I'm not really sure whats exactly casuing the pain, the AS or overextertion on my body.
I'll be getting my humira jab thou tomorrow and meeting my rheumy in roughly 10 days.
Its really hard living with AS and trying to go about your life as per normal.
