what a story!
glad no one was hurt!
lightning can be so dangerous, when we lived in maryland, every summer we'd always hear a few stories of people getting hit by lightning, some with not a very good ending.
so i always respect thunder storms, i'm sure you do as well, as sometimes you can't avoid being caught in one, they come up so quickly.
one time i had to run from a bus to a building, heard this loud boom, and jumped up the steps. found out once i got into the building that that strike hit the building, as my coworkers told me how the exit sign was blown out by that strike, it can be really scary. or another time when i was riding my bike home from work, skies turning blacker and blacker, 1/2 way home, lightning crashing all around me, never rode so fast in my life.
just glad everyone is safe.
and yay for a good horse!
i so enjoyed owning horses all through high school, but couldn't afford to board one in my 20s and then just got too busy to give one the time and attention i would have wanted to give. do miss my ol' gal missy
