If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Just thought i'd let you guys know how i've been...
Feeling quite a bit better these last 2 days. Figured out i was eating ham that had starch in it and bacon that had starch in it. I avoided these and i have definately improved.
Played football yesterday which was really exciting for me. Football is my life and to be able to play it yesterday was awesome. I played well in the first half and felt really good but in the second half my muscles started to seize up. I felt like led! lol. I'm sure this is the AS. But i think this is the best ive been on the diet. Made some of Chelsea's delicious raison/cranberry coconut slice!! I'm starting to get back on track for the hundreth time! Hopefully, fingers crossed, i can get my AS into remission.
Just a lil update, Seb

That is just awesome news, I'm so happy for you. You have been working so hard at kickin AS and so deserve some relief. I'm so glad you were able to play some soccer. Thanks for sharing.

Good lad.
I am really pleased that you can get out on the pitch again. I have semi retired this season due to you know what. However, I am hitting NSD hard and hoping to start up again next year.
Cheers
Keith

well done my friend, even a half is great, probably you just need to train a bit in the water or something to get your endurance level higher for the second half - without compromising your joints. sky is the limit if you want it enough, well done.

Wohoo! Must have felt so great to be able to get out there again... So pleased for you. If you haven't been able to play much for a while I guess your muscles got a bit of a fright, and if there is still inflammation going on then that probably will make you tire more easily. A soak in an Epsom salts bath would be a nice treat. Good you worked out the ham and bacon... Another piece of the puzzle. Check with Chelsea as to which brand bacon she gets for her hubby, as there is at least one safe one. Or, find to a butcher and see if they can help you source a more naturally cured bacon.

Hello Seb,
I slipped up with bacon early on.. over processed food that tends to have modified starch. I found same problems with sausage.
Best to you that you continue to improve.

Glad to hear you've been doing a bit better seb. It really will be 2 steps forward 1 step back for you over the next few months. Seems to be the way it goes for most people while trying to fine-tune the diet. As long as the overall trend over the next year is improvement then you're on the right track.
Beehive brand bacon is not starchy. Not the cheapest either, doh! I think their ham may be OK also but not sure as Jon doesn't really eat ham often.
The coconut slice will help you to keep the weight on and good for fibre as well. Jon finds it good in the mornings as saves him time cooking bacon and eggs every day.....cheaper too!

I don't seem to flare with small amounts of starch but if you read the labels there is a big difference in carb and starch levels. Like Tim said I found a great sausage but nope has starch. Found another brand and there is only sugar and no starch If I can't test I always make sure the label says Carbs = Fiber + sugar. If any carbs are missing and not listed as fiber or starch you know there is a potential problem.
