I think it is a great idea. I am with Strustky. Rather have it not "in your face". I like the small over your heart logos. Have seen shirts with it on the sleeve also.

If we have to go with one color, grey is always good as well as white as long as the fabric is heavy enough.

I will be in for more than one for sure.

I appreciate you hard working creative people.

Blessings.

As far as sizes go...keep us big guys in mind too....atleast a 2xl for most shirts for me.

Maybe all we really need is one agreed on logo and then different areas, countries can get there shirts locally but we would all have the same design on them. Then make a donation to KA for every logo they use???

Ok folks, Here are some answers to your questions.

Size: We can get a variety of sizes. From my source, we can get small, medium, large, and extra large for the same price. double x or triple x will cost more.

Colour (shirt): From my source, white will be one price, color (colour) will be a little more, but worth every penny.

Colour (printing): The number of colors you need depends entirely on the design. The people at my source typically work with one color, but can do two or three, and possibly 4 colors, but that gets a bit much, and of course costs proportionally more.

Style (shirt): Different style shirts, including sweat shirts, will cost different prices. I can get the prices once I find out the logo, and what folks want. T shirts are the cheapest, polo shirts cost more by about twice, sweats cost about the same as polo shirts.

Style (printing): You can get what ever you want. the more elaborate the design, the more it costs.

Quantity: I intended to print up a lot, I don't know how many yet, but enough so we'll have plenty for everyone. No one will "get stuck" because there will always be a demand. That's why I wanted to work with the "official" logo. If that's the donkey, then we need the approval of the Admin's to use it. Once I get that approval, I'll "draw" up the graphic and post it here for comment. Bear in mind that I have a full time job, and that takes a little of my time too.

I have been waiting for word from our Admin's before I begin this project, and I think they need a little rest, especially one that I know of. So, I think we owe it to them to wait a while before jumping into it. Mig said that others have offered to do this as well, so I definitely need their "go ahead" before I begin anything. OK??

OK.

Have you guys ever used Cafepress.com They let up upload a graffic and set up a "store" where they have all different types of shirts and product you and have you logo put on and sold. they handle all the production and shipping people just log on and by. I am not sure how it would work as far as making an extra cost to have money for the site. But it might be worth looking into. Where ever the shirts are made and sold I want one too! Glad you guys are doing this.

That sounds awesome!

If I am reading right, and like my thinking was kind of some people want one kind and some another. So we could offer T-shirts, Polo and Sweatshirts with the same agreed on logo and then each person could decide which style is right for them.

Did we talk about the shirts say having just 1 color for AS like breast cancer is pink? Im sure it has been said and Im sorry if it has. So tell me again..lol would we have 1 color for all shirts to represent A.S. and then the logo on it? Or any color and as long as the logo is on it...my feelings would be 1 color that represents what we feel the color of A.S. would look like..maybe 2 or 3 colors and then a vote? I mean I don't care if someone comes in and says "this" color is it and that is that then that is fine too.

Do you or can you list what the prices would be polo versus sweatshirt versus t-shirt? or does it depend on how many is ordered?

Also has it been decided on how much on top of the shirts we can add to help the site, just keep in mind alot of people are on disability and don't have alot of money BUT if someone wants a shirt and they can not afford one then I will somehow find a way for them to have one, I do not want anyone here that wants one not to be able to get one because of the price..maybe I can figure something out and talk to Mig about an account just for something like that it would be personal so Admin would only know or Mig but maybe I can figure out a way to fund it so that if there is a need it is met...sorry I know I am babbleing Im on heavy drugs right now but Im so excited about this.

Anyway if anyone can help me out with my questions I would apreciate it.

Lisa

Maggie - Cafe Press is quite expensive, in as much as, the 'charity' gets very little back! So, been there, been involved, was disappointed in their handling of one of my orders (times several items) got no redress from them! A medical equine group I belong to (DSLD/ESPA) and also the Curly Horse Rescue Society use Cafe Press, works 'fairly' OK for Nth America but outside of Nth America HHHhhhhmmmmmmm. Added in the factor of, the charity gets very little out of it. (Don't think we make more than a couple of hundred bucks a year from em - should be able to obtain a better knowledge of the final/exact figures if anyone wants more info.)

Of course, a lot depends on 'what' is ordered, i.e. more in it for say a sweat shirt than for a key ring - lots of options with Cafe Press, including strappy tops, mugs, baseball caps, tot bags, masses of stuff. Just take a look at their web site - and their site should give instances of 'profit'/kick back to the charity. Can't remember IF you have to be a registered charity or not. But each person puts in their own order, Cafe Pres deal with *everything, including accounting back to the charity. Monies are sent back to the charity automatically. The accounting is pretty good. But I don't much care for dealing with them (it was a total mess as far as my order was concerned and I ordered up a pile of stuff. Never again!)

Sorry if this sounds a negative note - but I got landed with a not so happy sheet of music... ohwell

Just wanted to chime in and say, in my experience selling shirts for charities, NO ONE buys sweatshirts. If we ordered 30 t-shirts and 30 sweatshirts, we'd end up with 28 sweatshirts left over. I think sweatshirts just aren't in fashion anymore. (at least here lol)
Just wanted to mention that. I absolutely LOVE the idea and will buy more than one of whatever the style ends up as. smile "Kicking AS and takin names" is my favorite motto.

Molly, sounds like you have alot more experience with cafepress than me. Your note didnt sound negative at all. I would trust your experince more I have just bought one or two things within the site but never attempted to sell anything or even read up on how they work. But it sounds like it is probably not a good option.

Has anyone thought about hoodies? Would they sell better than sweatshirts?
