I think we all deal with AS in our own way with what is best for us. I don't have any interest in the Diets or fasting but I have no problems with the people who do in fact I'm very pleased for them that they have found something that works for them. I look at it this way some people make AS their life and do every thing they can to try to beat it that's fine and if their happy living life that way it's there choice no one elses we all have our own opinions that whats makes the world go around and I feel its good that we can discuss these in a respectful manner and learn from each other.

John Has a vast knowledge of AS and the problems that go with it and is a very big part of KA he has suffered greatly over the years to find whats best for him in hes treatment and helped a lot of people on the way. What he says is what he believes in and he is passionate about it and I admire him for that.I have had disagreements over hes posts at times and other dieters but I do have respect for them. They follow there beliefs which is how it should be as long as it isn't insulting to none believers.

AS to me is just a part of my life it isn't my life as long as I get through each day as best I can and do the things I want to I'm happy it's not going away and will affect me for the rest of my days I accept that and get on with my life.

I hope this will settle down I know a lot of members have been upset by some things that were posted and can under stand that but lets move on and stop getting at each other we all have AS we are all suffering in some way that's why we are here to help each other. This is such a wonderful place and means so much to all of us yet if we are not carefull we will be the ones to destroy it.We all are strong enough to fight this terrible disease arent we strong enough to turn the other cheek sometimes and remain respectfull of each other and be friends.

Kevin

I wrote a good post last night and then deleted it cause I feared it was so close to the truth that Alan actually would have people come visit me one dark night (inside joke from another post).

Basically I think people have totally gone off the deep end here- totally unbiased opinion. Everyone mad in this post has done just that- gone MAD.

Furthermore FINALLY HADDOCK OVER THE SHOULDER! I'M GOING TO GO GET A FEW POUNDS RIGHT NOW!! NO ONE CAN STOP ME. I'M GOING TO CARRY IT TO DEATH! Then come back as a ghost and blame you for telling me about it.

It is more than my opinion that the medical field is more harm than good but we are all brainwashed to think its furthering humanity.

If you can chop down the tallest tree in the forest with a herring, then why can't tossing a haddock fix AS? Makes perfectly good sense to me... yes

I read a study that 9000 people a year (prob in the states) die from food borne illness and 90000-110000 people die each year from CORRECTLY prescribed drugs. This of course does not include INCORRECTLY prescribed drugs and cover ups. Then again, this is all misinformation too.

I wonder how many would die if many of those meds did not exist or were not prescribed?

There is always that risk versus benefit thing we all have to look at for ourselves and decide what to do. Can't just look at one side of it. If only the perfect, risk free treatment, for all diseases existed.

I do tend to agree that we take way too many meds in this country rather than change lifestyles however.

No families take so little medicine as those of doctors, except those of apothecaries.

X-Files was a favorite show of one of my former roomamates... I never really got into the show myself.

I had to make a post in John's defense, since he continually provides me with more useful information than anybody else here. I am a huge believer that this disease, along with many others, is primarily a dietary issue. The NSD has given me a new lease on life. So, yes, I have a bias.

I'm tempted to rant a little, but since we live in an age of hyper-sensitivity I won't. I never once found John's tone belittling or condescending. His disclaimers were obvious and out-front, and I see absolutely no logical reason for anybody to have taken offense at his post. To me, he was just communicating like an adult would, to other adults.

Unbe***lievable.

John is once again Mr Clean. He never talks down to people, and he is never rude. Nice. And Black is white and rain is dry. Now we don't have to worry about the weather affecting our AS. Thanks Chris, We all needed that.

Keep the Faith!

Did I ever say he never talks down to people, or is never rude? How would I know? I haven't been here long, and I've never personally read any of his posts that would lead me to believe so. Did I ever say black was white? I was talking about his posts in this particular thread.

ps You're welcome.
