Three years ago i had a bit of an accident at work and had to go to hospital with back problems they told me to have a hot shower and you would be fine so i did and still in pain i went back to the doctors and back again until i was sent for a scan the results were= 30% anterior vertebral height reduction at T11, 28% at T12, 18% at L1, and minor reduction at T10, end plate irregularity and schmorl's node between T7/8 and T12/L1,ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament at T6/7 with thecal sac effacement mild disc space narrowing in the lower thoracic region at L1/2, bilateral facet degeneration at L4/5 and L5/S1, at C5/6 slight disc space narrowing with marginal osteophytes at the opposing vertibral end plate disc protrusion with calcification on disc osteophyte indenting the thecal sac since then i am going down hill, hip pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, stiff neck with pain, back pain stiffness, ankle foot pain, headaches daily,my father has AS,and, the doctors, there have been quite a few can not tell me what is going on they tell me it is in my head, sorry about the long post 3years of frustration coming out

Hey Pluto ...
Welcome to KA... Sorry you're havin a rough time with it... sounds like where i was about two years ago when i got my first xrays.. Have you had bloodwork done for Hla b27 gene, ESR and CRP.. They are essential to show if there is anything fishy going on... judging by your scan report there is.. so i don't know why they'd be so rude as to say it's in your head... that stinks!.. Anyways GP should order those bloodtests and from there you should get to a specialist pronto so you can sort this out. I didn't get dx ed for quite a few years and went through alot of unecesary pain and damage because no one picked up on it... now i'm on meds and physio and healthier life/work style and doing alot better. Hope you get some clues soon.

Hello Pluto,

I'm afraid your post doesn't quite make the list of "Verbosity Assault" transgressions. These dangerous windbags are closely monitored by the moderators and I have it on good authority that your name did not come up.

Also, I was having an argument with...myself, about whether your username refers to the animated dog or the un-planet? Hopefully you can clear up this matter in time for me to get to bed so "I" can finally shut up and admit that "I" was right all along. The best part about arguing with myself is that I AM ALWAYS RIGHT...lol

There sure seems to be a lot of Australians in here. Maybe it's just me or maybe you guys just stand out more or something, but it seems that quite a few members are from there.

Welcome to the greatest website you'll ever find...well, for AS at any rate.

Hi Pluto and welcome to KA. After looking at those scans, to not recognize something is going on, I would suggest those particular doctors check out what's going on in their heads!

Very sorry to hear that you're suffering like this. The ESR and CRP tests measure inflammatory levels in your blood. Not everyone who has inflammatory arthritis will have elevated ESR and CRP but many do so it's a good indicator of active disease. Perhaps you can request these tests. I found that my doctors were keen to do something for me when my levels got very high.

Still up but thanks all the same.

Now I'm gonna have to Google "Pluto Pup" because I have never heard of that before. I'm guessing it's a brand name for a snack?

Nite.
