Hey gang,
Just got home this afternoon. Had the L4-5 Fusion surgery Thursday morning. I was under the knife for about 5 hours. But was up and sitting in a chair for dinner that night, and walking the halls and climbing stairs with the PT the next morning. Got in several fairly long walks and some PT exercises yesterday and this morning. I am getting around without a walker or cane, just moving carefully. So the doc sprung me today. I have an LSO Brace for when I am up walking, and just for some comfort measure. I have been surprised at how painless most of this has been. Of course I had a PSA pump the first night, but since I didn't hit the button the doc DC'd it yesterday and left some Vicodan orders, for my stay and a script to bring home. But after a 90 mile ride home, I have been able to handle things with just some Advil. I actually have a little increase in the deficet in the left leg, but the doc said it "Should" go away as swelling and irritation from surgery goes away. Keeping My fingers crossed. I go back to the doc in 2 weeks to have some staples removed and see what the next phase will be. Thanks for all of your support.

Seriously, Chris, I'm not sure I believe you about the sitting in a chair and walking and Advil and such . . . I KNOW I couldn't do that!

If you're telling the truth . . . and I can't picture you lying . . . then WOW, dude, you're a superhero. And your doc is too. Or something.

So how's the E-stim thingie doing with the spinal surgery? are you able to use it right now? isn't it kinda implanted right in that area?

toddler attacking my purse, gotta go

*hugs!!*
you're a hero
and I watered your flowers. smile

Hey Bridge,
Yep its all true..Even stopped on the way home for pizza. clap Its really not been that painful. I am using the Implanted Stim, the doc left it in place, actually it was on through the surgery. So I don't know if that is helping, but its not hurting.. wink2 Don't know about the superhero part, but I sure hope that my surgeon is! Actually he tried to boot me out of the hospital last evening, but I told him I wanted another session with PT before I left and he was fine with that.

Thanks Wendy, But I'm giving it all to the docs and the hospital staff. I mean they were on their games, and had Me up and moving right away. So if anyone wants My Team, just PM me and I'll send you the info. You'll just have to go to Columbus, Ohio.
