We followed the guidelines here pretty well. I read the Sinclair book, Dow did the apple fast first. We tested fruits and vegetables mostly as a group with iodine, not always the individual fruit. Although we would sometimes test apples if we were suspicious. We tested spices, supplements (wow, a lot of those are starchy!) and basically ended up eating mostly salad with oil and vinegar, meats, eggs, non-root vegetables. For a treat, Almond Joy bars on occasion. Now we're doing low-starch mostly. Avoiding white flour, consuming carrots, but not potatoes (me especially not) so we're back to eating meat, eggs, veggies, and salads. I use a some seasonings that might be a little starchy. It does help my digestion to avoid the pasta and white flour items.

Hi Kat,

Yes, it definitely matters to the individual as to which starches bother them. I certainly get some odd looks when I'm offered potatoes or rice and decline them with "No thanks they make my leg hurt."

Which fruits help your sinuses? I have a lot of sinus problems this time of year and I'd love to be able to avoid that particular pain in the head.

Cheers,
Marsha

Twenty five year of judges, juries and fact findings and fools. They make one thing "evident". Evidence is iike beauty. It is in the eye of the beholder, it is fleeting and what is beautiful today may not be tomorrow.

Find evidence one way or the other, you might as well find ole Nessie.

Silly debate. Got our own 12 angry men or women. Who's gonna be Jack Klugman.

How about a nice game of chess?

Hi there.
I am away for the weekend and don't have the booklet with me but if you ring Arthritis Austrailia and ask for the AS booklet I am sure you would get it. I originaly rang for a different booklet can't remember the exact name something like 10steps to.....
Anyway the lady asked what I had and when I told her I had AS she said oh I can send you a booklet on it.

I guess you would be sent the same as me if you asked for the AS booklet.
Sorry I couldn't be more specific.
I will get back to you with the actual name when I get home.
Take care
