I am somewhat skeptical of probiotics. I think they have potential to actually increase symptoms. I am not basing this on any evidence just intuition.

i take a dietary supplement called "inner health plus - dairy free" in VegeCaps. *
*25 billion good bacteria per capsule. (12.5 billion Lactobacillus Acidophilus (NCFM) Organisms & 12.5 billion Bifidobacterium Organisms.)
the application :
aids gastrointestinal system, digestive function, helps maintain the balance of good bacteria, helps symptoms of bloating gas or flatulence,aids in maintaining a normal healthy immune system & helps improve general wellbeing.
i have noticed the bloating and gas has settled somewhat, but that could also be attributed to diet change. This is a part of my wholistic health approach to AS.

What are the vegetable shells made of? Can they be tested? I tried some probiotics but the veg shells definitely felt like starch but it was really hard to use iodine due to their surface. They upset my stomach as a consequence.

Funny you should say that, because it was that exact same feeling that led me to make this post! I got a bit seduced by the adverts recently, thinking about AS and gut bacteria etc. I bought a pack of six and crazy as this may sound.... As I was drinking one, I could almost hear the Kleb in my gut saying "mmmm yummy!" I started wondering are they good for AS sufferers of bad? I know, I know... I've lost the plot!! LOL

I am thinking of buyimg Inner Health dairy free probiotics...does it pass the iodine test. I am sick of wasting money on supplements that say they are pure etc...

I would like to buy Natrens Healthy Trinity, but the cost after postage is astronomical. So I am aiming for Inner Health.
