If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/178596.phpInhibiting Serotonin In Gut Could Cure OsteoporosisThey've 'cured' Osteoporosis, literally turned it around! (OK, in rats and mice, but...) Now, to refine and produce the drug. This is terrific. (snip...) "An investigational drug that inhibits serotonin synthesis in the gut, administered orally once daily, effectively cured osteoporosis in mice and rats reports an international team led by researchers from Columbia University Medical Center, in the Feb. 7 issue of Nature Medicine. Serotonin in the gut has been shown in recent research to stall bone formation. The finding could lead to new therapies that build new bone; most current drugs for osteoporosis can only prevent the breakdown of old bone." (more...) They got one thing wrong in the press release, as it went on to saay that there was only 'one' drug that could build up bone, incorrect. Strontium Citrate builds up bone. However, this is a tremendous breakthrough of great potential. (Bet many at pharma are wetting themselves!)

thanks molly!
didn't really read the details, so appreciate your summary, and don't know how this would relate, or even if it would, but LDN is supposed to cause the body to increase serotonin production, and this stops serotonin production in the gut....so how do you think LDN affects osteoporosis, do you think it does? do you think these two drugs would compete with one another???? just wondering, and too lazy to research the whole thing myself.......

Stops Serotin production in the gut but not the brain. It is the Serotin in the gut that is doing the damage. Read the article, it's not that long, and is very interesting - good research work.
As for the LDN...don't know. Interesting. Will ask Dr Lawrence.
But this breakthrough for osteoporosis is a tremendous way forward. At the moment the osteo drugs do NOT do as promised. In the long run they make matters worse, as they stop the uptake of new bone, only making existing bone harder, threfore MORE brittle in the longer term. It has been observed that the present osteo drugs eventually lead the patient to having brittle bones, like dried out twigs, as the bone does not, cannot, renew due TO the drugs, like Fosamax etc etc.
Then you have to face the side effects of the osteo drugs, which as we know 'can' lead to osteonecrosis of the jaw - jaw bone death. Really think it about time that those osteo drugs were banned. Lethal. But of course, vested interests and the *Power of pharma...(who are NOW, following the bad press and uncovering the lie of Aspartame, are trying to re-foist Aspartame on the world by renaming it a 'natural sweetener'! Sheesh. And of course, the world of gullible sheep will swallow the lie. Dear Lord. As the medics, without question, go along with the spin.)
At the moment there is Strontium Citate that DOES indeed strengthen bone without stopping the take up and regeneration of new bone.
Yes. Will have a word with Dr L.

i haven't read the report yet - but your synopsis very interesting, Like Sue - this raised an eyebrow with me. I take tramadol daily - and it increases serotonin. Hoping to hear brain vs. gut two different matters but it you find out more please post. thank you, mary cay
