If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Early i posted how well i was feeling due to steroids following injections i had wks ago and how they finally kicked in. I felt so much energy i havn't had in such a long time now after doing laundry between cleaning kitchen, which was long overdue i am in pain I just got up from this computer and my legs and hips are killing me. I hate this disease i can't even do simple task. I can't wait to get into new my new Rheumy to get on proper meds. I had appt last wk but had to cancel hubby had to take truck to work his car couldn't make it down the hill due to snow. I am tired of this snow, and i promised my little boy i would go out to watch him snowboard after school and he will be off bus in 10mins, i will have to take my vicoprofen cause mom will not break her promise. I can already see my future for tomorrow in bed with the heating pad. Just wanted to vent

I know its difficult Laurie and you will feel down because you cant do what you used to.You have to pace your self and learn how much you can do at any one time. Although Im not in pain at the moment Im still taking things gently I know that if I over do it I will be in pain again You will play with your little boy it might be a bit slower but you will do it. I play with my Grandaughter she understands I have my limits and shes only 4 Kids understand a lot more than you think. So come on pick yourself up you can be strong AS cant beat you give it a kick.If you cant play out with him play in Im sure he will understand.

Laurie I can understand. Your little guy will understand mom needs a couple of minutes of sit down time so she can enjoy his snowboarding a little bit longer just the two of you. I hope I said this correct? If not please forgive me. Before I started Athrotec I was always in pain. Many times all I did was get out of bed and wham down for the count with pain. I do not have AS but have Adult Scoliosis - still a painful disease. When you enjoy the heating pad tomorrow pretend you are really sitting on a warm beach watching the waves roll into the shoreline. Hear the seagulls calling to each other. Feel the wind caressing your cheeks. Feel the pain draining away from your body. Begin this new day refreshed. oh! I just read you are coming down from a steroid high. I have never taken steroids but do have a lot of friends who have MS who take them when they need them. They all describe having super human feelings of major energy and they also described the crash back down as being very emotional. I am so sorry I didn't read your post correctly. Darn MJ playing in the background! hehee

Thanks, you do know what i am feeling. And Kevin you sound just like 2 of my docs. They always tell me to pace myself, but before i got sick well i guess i should say when it showed it self, since i had it for 20yrs but symptoms were mild and mis diagnosed. I had boarderline ocd, a clean freak, no germs were in my house and nothing could be out of place, not the kind of ocd where i couldn't leave my house because i was afraid i left something on and had to keep checking. I had alot of pelvic surgeries in the past, one of them at 5 in the morning i was mopping my floor on the way out and i was having an ovary removed cause it ruptered. So yeah i was kinda disturbed when it came to germs but i didn't want to come home to a dirty home. Now since i have gotten sick this is how i discribe my ocd, my brain and body don't get along. The brain is saying one thing and my body is saying another and the body usually wins, so i have learned to take things somewhat better. Hey Magician i have scoliosis also, it sucks cause no doctor out of five that i saw said nothing til surgery was done for 2 ruptured disc and 2 wks post-op doc says as you can see on x-ray you have scoliosis. So he put a rod in lumbar but would not go any futher to t-spine said to risky. Why didn't anybody see this. My chiropractor saw it years ago. I am going to get my little boy check out next time he has to go to dr. I asked my son if the nurse has ever check him which i wouldn't go by what she said anyway, if a dr can't see it on mri's a nurse won't. Sorry for going on and on for so long.

no, that is ok, Laurie. Do not apologize! My brother has OCD! I understand exactly the struggle with this illness too. Before he knew he had it he would run 1/4 mile every night just to check if the fence gate was closed. He lives on a cattle farm. I would see his rituals before he even opened the door. He would always say 'check, check, check' and then one day he asked me why I never did that when I left the house! I said, 'You never see me when I misplace my keys!'. Like you my chiropractor did see the curve in my spine and pointed it out to me but I couldn't understand. Perhaps I didn't want to understand. I don't know. It is very good you are going to have your little guy checked! The steroids will release their grip on you so you are able to sleep and not stress as much. Rest well, Laurie and little guy! I hope you both have a very fun time snowboarding!

I hear you Laurie, my daughter is a violinist and I have never missed a concert yet. I honestly cannot believe it to tell you the truth but I figure I am going to be crippled with pain anyway so I may as well hurt for a good reason.
My family, my doctors and my dog - these are just about the only reasons I get out of the house anymore. One day it will be nice to get out just for me again.
Hope you don't have to suffer too much tomorrow,
Chris

Oh Laurie, I feel for you. It's so tempting when we're feeling good to get out there and look after everything. It always bites us in the butt afterward, tho. Which sucks big time. [I was going to put a hug in here, but the smilies won't work, so please just imagine it's there, OK]
Bundle up warmly and go enjoy your son's fun. Then cuddle up with a nice big mug of cocoa and your heating pad (or an ice pak, whichever applies). Just listen to your body. It never lies.
Warm hugs,
Kat
