If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

On Remicade for over a year and finally have a bad sinus infection. I started antibiotics yesterday but notice bad SI pain for the first time in over a year. Any ideas? I can't wait to feel better.
- Beth
P.S. How long after you finish antibiotics do you wait to have your next infusion?

Can't answer your question, but I have long-standing sinus issues AND inflammatory arthritis being treated as AS. At some point I figure Remicade is in my future...so I'll be watching this topic. Been going between augmentin and ceftin for the past 6 weeks trying to clear this up. 2 days on augmentin again seems to be helping....unfortunately, had to stop mtx again. Grrrr. Hope you are feeling better soon and don't have to delay your infusion.

Thank you... I have had Sinus problems for years. I am on a nasal spray every winter. A few years ago I had my septum straightened as I was hoping to get off of meds. My nose was better for a year and then back to normal. Without nasal spray I start a sinus infection in about 48 hours. I was really surprised that I didn't have problems earlier on Remicade. How is MTX working for you? Remicade made a huge differene in my life. It is good to know that we have options. My daughter tested positive for HLA B27 and has started a gluten free diet and it really seems to be helping her. She needs no pain killers or puffers when on the diet. Even her body temp is normal. I told her I would start in February and see if it helps my nose. Been reading that food intolerences cause problems everywhere. Will let you know if my nose feels any better on the diet.

Hey Bethi, I'm sorry to hear about the sinus infection. Man, that bites.
The guideline I've always used is that you should be off the antibiotic and clear of illness for at least 10 days. If in doubt, call your rheumy and ask his advice.
Wheat allergy alone can cause nasal congestion, by the way. Who knew? I'm glad your daughter is feeling so much better overall since going gluten-free. I know I have. It's been something of a revelation, actually. I hope the good results continue.
Warm hugs,
Kat
