I was just wondering who else has diarrea when they eat starch. I get it when I eat sugar, lactose and starch. Also, if i eat too much fruit i get diarrea. And diarrea seems to come with a flare. Is this the same for anybody else?

Not much has changed here - specific gastric events attract little comment.
Basically any event which radically stresses or changes or biases the bacterial and floral make-up of the bowel and the intestines can cause looser motions...
Fruit contains sugars which attract/retain water and therefore more liquid waste - this is the process we use to actually cause looseness - we ingest salt or salts (epsom salts) as these absorb water become heavy and loosen the bowel.
Change in diet can cause diarrhoea - so can mental changes.
If you do get a bit of a cleanout, sometimes it may be good to go with it and fast a while to help the cleansing process - just drinking water for a while with no food.

Hi Mooseman
I posted some time back in the main forum with subject Title 'SpA and Gut Patholgy' and yes I can't spell pathology.
Try using the advanced search facility for that subject.
Vitually everyone has gut sometimes but very few seem willing to talk about it - unless to make some poo jokes.

Cheers David
PS I could have made another comment in my own post and that would have brought it back to the top of the page - but that's 'not cricket'
Speaking of cricket - better fire up the TV - Test match Aust V Pakistan starts in 2 hours - very boring watching Pak's lose every match by dropping catches. Hope Umar Akmal can at least make a double century

Depends on the type. I can't eat Wheat or most grains without developing those problems. I was checked for Celiac but it was negative. I can eat Corn, potatoes, or rice and I have no gut problems or diarrea.

Of the sweets only high- fructose corn syrup bothers me in that way. Stuff is poison.

yep, now that I've been strict NSD for a couple months if I have anything particularly starchy it completely throws out my digestive system, get really constipated for a couple days then it all comes at once, bad diarrhea and then peters off back to normal.

I'm a definite yes here. Always had that problem, but the NSD reduced it greatly.
Still get the occasional trouble, but perhaps that's the occasional bit of starch somewhere.
