If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi, soor:
IF I needed some pain relief, I would try Enbrel. Although it does not stop the cell destruction, it can reduce inflammation while the underlying cause of AS is better addressed by paying close attention to diet.
I might have resorted to Enbrel if the antibiotics had not worked so smashingly well,
John

see what alohaben has said about embrel, i love his posts about the stuff. since they haven't put a name to my inflammatory arthritis, i haven't been given the option of the biologics but i'd try them if i were allowed.
sorry to hear about the feet, i know.....
if you decide not to go with the biologics, lots of info here on other things that can be done for the feet to help keep them under control. or you can ask again if you have trouble finding the old info.

Sorry you're hurting. When the feet hurt, there is no avoiding it. If you are being offered Enbrel, I'd go for it. Have you tried methotrexate already? I seem to remember you not doing well on it....

Hi Soor, I know how your hurting. My Rheumy was all set to start me on Enbrel, but everything was put on hold when Porphyria was mentioned. After I see the MS and Porphyria Specialist, and have these things dealth with, then my Rheumy will go back and deal with the Spondylitis.
I think I am just as nervous as you about starting Enbrel, maybe a little more, especially my track record with starting new drugs. Hoping if I am dealing with Porphyria, they are able to get it under control, then I will be able to take more drugs. Right now there is very little I can take, and each day my body tolerates a little less.
Sending many gentle hugs.
Gerri

If the doc wants to jump from an NSAID right to Enbrel, he must be sure you need it. My insurance requires that I have to try and fail methotrexate before I can go to a biologic. So that might be something to think/inquire about. Hope it works out for you. Pain really sucks.
