I had a Myelogram and CT yesterday, after the Flexeril false start last week, and got the results today. I AM HEALED!! Hallelujah!! All of this back pain and leg weakness and pain..its just not there. I don't know what it is, but I guess it isn't what I am feeling. 1cup confused2

3 years ago an MRI showed a ruptured disc at L4-L5. I was told by surgeons (more than one) at that time due to its location and the active AS, "that surgery was not advised because of the extreme chance of paralysis". Now its evidently healed itself. A nearly perfect picture of a spine, I guess? In the surgeons words "some disc degeneration and mild spondylolisthesis (easy for him to say) of L3-L4. No disc herniation or nerve impingement is noted.." Hhhmmmmmmmm

SO! Moving forward, my next adventure into the world of medical-masochistic pleasures is a Discogram! Ah Ha, Ah Ha

Now I lived through the 70's and 80's, and really hated the whole Disco thing then. I don't know why its going to be any better in 2K10..I guess the doctor wears a leisure suit, platform shoes and sticks needles into the discs in my spine while doing the Hustle with the nurses under a mirrored ball.. Ala Studio 54!! I just hope that they remember which patron gets the good drugs before the party! pimp blush2

as you said, guess its a good thing to no longer have a ruptured disc, according to this exam at least, but would be nice to know what the issue is then. is that what the next test is for? a better look? i just googled discogram and this seems like the case as far as i can tell.

and here's a little something while you get the procedure done:

sue

Spondyloarthropathy, HLAB27 negative
Humira (still methylprednisone for flares, just not as often. Aleve if needed, rarely.)
LDN/zanaflex/flector patches over SI/ice
vits C, D. probiotics. hyaluronic acid. CoQ, Mg, Ca, K.
chiro
walk, bike
no dairy (casein sensitivity), limited eggs, limited yeast (bread)

Oh No!! floor DISCO.....

Yes it is my understanding from today's little chat that the Discogram is to look for pain radiating from the disc itself and not the nerves?? Hey he's the doctor... But I thought it took nerves to have pain..Hhhmmmmmm

Anyway we have gone full circle and I go back to my pain management doc for this procedure. I guess this doctor is throwing it back into his lap.. crazy2
