So this is probably pointless to say and some what ridiculous BUT MY BACK HURTS!!!! And I haven't had a wink of sleep in days! I am being a baby I suppose but I have never had this much pain in my back. Oh wait I am lying. I was in a car wreak when I was 17. It feels like that. As if a car ran over me! blah blah blah I know. One more time for the record though I am fairly new to this and my chest, ribs, and back feels broken. The Doc says they won't give me pain pills til' later in life because this is something I have to live with forever. They don't want me addicted to pain pills at an early age....but I could really use just one pill so I could sleep tonight. Okay I will get off my soap box...I just don't tell anyone I know because I feel like a burden. and repetitive.anyway much love-Kelly

if i were you, i'd go to a pain center / pain clinic and have doctors who have a different philosophy about pain. i don't think "suck it up and just accept that you will be in pain" is the only way that all doctors think. there are options out there to help the pain, i'd seek them out.

THOSE BLEEEEEEEPING QUACKS.

Ohhhh I'm so tired of Dr.s who are pain free telling those of us in pain that we can't live without pain, so they won't help us live without pain. It just pisses me off to no end. I've seen elderly folks walking around in pain because their Dr. doesn't want to get the addicted to a pain reliever.

Astri... Do what Sue says.. Go to a real Dr. and get treatment. You are too young to be looking at a life of pain. And there are too many alternatives that weren't around years ago.

Oh that makes me so mad I could just spit.

Ok Mr. Andrews,

I'll calm down. But I had to visit one of my favorite web sites... Wack-a-doc in the Spondyville fairgrounds. http://spondyville.com/page41disclaimer.html It helped.

Heheheh

Hey Kelly
I hope ya feel better soon... I'm on a terrible one too.. no sleep, mega pain... etc.. So i'm sorry and understand what you're going through... What do you do when you feel this crap?.. All i can manage is reading and a bit of a hobble in the sun. As far as pain meds go... my rheumy is reluctant for me to be on the strong stuff too, but when i was like this for two weeks recently i crawled into his office, pretty much in tears. He wrote me a script for oxycodone 5mg 3 times a day for 7 days. It totally broke through the pain within 24 hrs and i was able to walk, sleep, function again. I didn't even need how much he prescribed.. so i took 2 a day for three days and was fine good great. The whole stygma around these drugs is annoying but kind of understandable. I'm aware and wary of developing tolerance or addiction. We're also in ridiculous ammounts of pain which needs to be relieved treated. But being quite young.. i'm 32, we don't want to use up our trump card for breaking through the pain. So its a bit of a balancing act. Sorry i'm a bit scattered from not much sleep but maybe you get what im saying... I hope your doctor will come around too. How are you treated at the moment... nsaids? I'm new to all this too... bit of a learning curve but we'll get there!!
Feel better soon.
Rob.

Not silly....pain really hurts. Docs ought to have pain inflicted on them till they understand.

I can't find the exact link to prove this, but I believe that people who take narcotic pain meds aren't 'addicted' in the truest sense of the word. "Physical tolerance" is a truer definition. If it has been proven that non-narcotics don't work, then there shouldn't be a stigma, regardless of age. Even so, probably time to get a pain management doc. Pain really sucks.

Dont ever feel bad for saying you have pain. We have to tell or else others do not know. Its not whinging or whining its stating a fact.

You have bared your soul to us and not one here will judge let alone tell you that youre silly.

You need some relief though.......natural or drug.........just go do it. pain is so consuming you need a plan to get out. Have you got someone who can take over for a bit to help you. I can never make a good decision in pain, not even about the pain. Treat this as an emergency and do whatever knowing its the best for you right now.

Keep us updated
Much love
Bren
