I thought all the NSD-supporters would like this:

So I saw my rheumy this week. I gave him an update on my progress and ran through my list of questions/concerns (e.g. kidney issues while on this diet) and even wanted to hear this thoughts and candida. Toward the end of the discussion, he says (paraphrasing): "Listen, you've come a long way since I first saw you in February. You've clearly identified the root of the problem and you've done this without medication. This is amazing, because the only thing that I can provide you is temporary relief. So keep on doing what you're doing."

So, I don't know if he's placating me or if he's genuinely believing in the power of the diet.

Just thought all you starch deprived people may enjoy that implicit acceptance of NSD!

Freddie

Go team NSD!
And a thumbs up for the rheumy. Even if he doesn't genuinely believe, you've given him something to think about.

What did he say about the kidneys? My total protein is on the high side of normal.Just wondering.I gotta make an appt w/ my doc. I checked my cholesterol and it was 257!!!! So high! I wasn't fasting but all I had eaten was a little tuna and grapes,no mayo or anything. Gotta ask about that, too. Might be the 6 fish oil a day he put me on. I cut back to 2. I eat lots of eggs also. Is yours high??

Congrats Freddie!

I had a GP in States and one rheumy that replied the same... so I can believe it was genuine.

My Doc says I am doing more than he ever could. He is also reading up on Doctor Ebringers research. I hope this means I am getting a handle on this disease. I have pretty much forgot what it's like to eat any other way. I owe many thanks to Kiwi, Dragon slayer, Jeanne and more. This place is Godsend. Pain is 10% of what it used to be. The fact that I have reduced the CRP is what impressed the Doc.
Thanks to everyone.
