Oh wow C.C., it's very encouraging to hear that you were able to beat sepsis, twice even, I'm just thinking that none of the antibiotics are going to help because she's been on IV antibiotics for a month straight and this happened two days after she got off the IV antibiotics when they released her from the hospital in Houston....2 days off and she develops sepsis and double pneumonia? Also, she has to be on 100% oxygen or she crashes....her doctor says that her organs are shutting down...I feel like I'm in a horrible nightmare...and my Dad is in a different hospital, across the bridge, he can't even go see her....they've both been in & out of the hospital for the last 4 years or so but it looks like this is it....

Michelle, just wanted to tell you this a.m. that you are still in our hearts. I am glad you got to see her and you will have no regrets. It was good that it was while the halls were empty.

I know I picked up the Serratia because we paid for both sides of the room (where they had no private rooms) and I stayed some and slept on the other bed. The pulmonist told me that Serratia hangs out in hospitals and nursing homes. None of my 5 brothers and sisters got sick. Just my immune system and not knowing that I could pick something up like that. It is a gram negative bacteria and nothing would touch it in the culture but IV antibiotics knocked it down enough that about 8 months of continuous antibiotics got it.

You were careful and I am sure you will be fine. You were just more informed than I was at that moment or more in charge of your emotions. I know you will feel better for having spent time with her.

I was so anxious to know how things were this a.m.

Will be checking back later in the day.

Just know you have a "city" of people here holding you up.

Loving you.

Oh honey.

If there is anything I can do, don't hesitate to let me know, OK? My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. White light and love speeding their way south as I type.

Warm hugs,
