Hi Mulehound,
Does cooked cauliflower test negative for you, or do you just not react to it?

I checked it after I steamed it. No change in the Iodine. I checked it before cooking also. I still check about everything, it's me and my Iodine bottle everywhere I go.

Have you ever noticed different parts of the cauli reacting differently to the iodine? I bought one, for the first time in ages (liked the sound of the cauli and bacon soup), and cooked a piece up. The stalk didn't change, but the curds did go grey green. Initially I had just tested a bit of stalk.... lesson learnt to test all different bits!
For some reason I have always prefered the stalky bits of cauli and broccoli, so I guess I could cut the curds off and serve them separately to the resident starch consumer. but, I did find the difference interesting.

Yes, this is common with lots of vegies. I always test different parts of any I test just to be sure.
